Malacia to Benfica....Thats quite odd considering Alvaro is ahead of him.

I don't understand how we have signed heaven.

Was he out of contract? Half way through a season?

Did he effectively not have a contract - and the pl will decide compensation due to arsenal? I see nothing saying we've agreed a deal with arsenal for him.

The two minutes comp I watched of him make me think he has the potential to be a great lcb. But talk is an issue at arsenal is he wanted to play cm not cb, so is that where we've told him he'll go?

Edit: the quotes from wilcox say defender so I assume that's where he is expected to play. Lcb replacement for Evans I reckon.

Now we just need to go for the hattrick and nab dowson from them!

”The 18-year-old’s scholarship deal at Arsenal was due to expire at the end of the current season, with a compensation package in the region of £1.5million agreed between the clubs.”

Arsenal offered him a professional contract and Eintracht Frankfurt were interested in him as well this window but he chose United and they were able to get a comp deal agreed. That’s what The Athletic reported anyway. Also that he wasn’t getting opportunities at Arsenal outside of a 10 min cameo in the league cup.

Not sure if it’s been said already but Dan Gore is gone to Rotherham (LG 1) on loan for the rest of the season. Makes sense if Casemiro is hanging around and with Collyer clearly ahead of him.

Seems to be a clear shift in transfer targets. Young, hungry, tall athletic players now prioritised it seems, not all will be successful obviously but good to see. I'm holding out hope that Tel has his eyes on Utd too.

Raising the physical levels seems a clear priority.

And in more general terms we simply can't afford to retool the squad with big signing.

I like the Leon and heaven signings cause the reality is that if they don't work out we still might make a profit on them. Unlike our bigger signings.

Gk, heaven, cb, yoro, dorgu, quenda(?), kone, mainoo, tel, amad, chido....

Wonder if this Rashford to Villa talk would indicate Tel has made his feelings clear on who he'd like to move to. Villa were apparently in the mix for his signature also

Only a ploy to get the big teams that have been monitoring the situation to make their move now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,679 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

You’d imagine they will loan Tel now. It’s actually a weird feeling seeing that. Rashford actually leaving. When he first broke into the team you would have thought he’d spend his full career at United. It’s a bit of shame but anyway.

Heaven was a striker at youth level and was known for bursting up field with the ball, sounds like he could do a job as back up back up back up LWB.

Rashford playing in the CL and again in the mix for CL qualification this season and some still sit behind their keyboards talking about big teams while acting like he's not upgrading his situation at the moment.

Suits everyone I think though doubt he winds up there following the Summer unless they make CL again. Though could be a good team to get into form with if he wants to go to the World Cup.

Ah now come on, when all this started there was talk off Barca, AC, Napoli wanting him and he is looking like ending up at Villa. He may go on and have a smashing second half of the season but I guarantee when he spoke to his brother about new clubs Villa wasn’t even near his list

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sancho started in a champions league fina last season ffs.

It's well documented that Barca did want him though.

I think what you are saying is right though, Villa wouldn't have been what was expected but they are stumping up the money, are in the Champions League and have a good team and actual decent coherent investment over the last few seasons. They're in a better place than United as it stands.

He's moving to play football and make the England team and Villa is somewhere he can achieve both in the short term and someone with his experience in big European games could be important for them. Emery tends to know what he's doing in Europe even if he's not always been the best league manager.

As I said I'd be surprised if he stuck there after the season but if it goes well why not.

None of those clubs were a runner unless they sold someone for various reasons. Barcelona can't register players they've already signed for finance reasons and Ac and Napoli can't register anymore non Eu players ( Garnacho is born in Madrid so was legal)

Its deffo a good move for everyone, Almiron has had a close look at Rashford and decided he doesnt want him, Rash has a point to prove and will get the chance to put himself in the spotlight, I really hope he plays well so we can get a deal for him in summer

Do we have a sell on for elanga hatrick of assists today

Rashford could go play for Real Madrid for all I care he is a man united forward that's scored about 10 goals in two years while getting paid over 300k a week and at the same time falling foul of the club's disciplinary rules on a couple of occasion.

I hope he tears up the league with villa and we get a good fee for him in the summer he and united are better off without each other.

Rashford fans such as @liamo gloating at other fans because he has got a move? It wasn't fans fault he went to Belfast, went out before Manchester derby I think it was, Didn't score goals, strolled around football pitch.

Funny how the squad leaks have practically stopped since he was booted out of the first team too.....

Goodbye Marcus thanks for a few happy memories.

Haha I don't want to argue with you jayo but it's hardly gloating what I've written? It was a response to a sarky point made above. I think you've gone too far down the hatred route.

In the last 2 years he has about 30 goals.

He didn't go out before the derby, no. In fact scored in the derby last season. The Belfast thing is the only club rule I think he's broke as he missed training following it which was very bad.

The squad leaks also stopped when Garnacho was dropped. Do you think Rashford doesn't know the squad every game? He's still there training with them.

Your loyalty to him is impressive really.

I replied to a couple of comments of yours a few weeks ago and asked how long you'd give him a pass for, but I didn't get an answer. I'm genuinely interested to know though. What would he have to do or not do for you to admit that maybe he should be trying harder and deserves to be dropped.

Every other player that we've given out about for the last few years with similar attitudes has been gotten rid of, pogba, lingard, martial, sancho. Antony is gone now too cos he's not good enough.

The players that are left i think they do actually give there best every game now, whether their best is good enough is a different story.

Rashford isn't been scapegoated or treated unfairly, he's been rightly dropped for his crap performances and attitude.

I don't recall you every saying a bad word against him, but you'll be straight on here if rasmus does something wrong.

I wished someone loved me the way you love Rashford! 😁

Imagine a pre/post interview with Amorim and Rashford is not being constantly asked about…

    Hopefully it'll be a match Ayden Heaven…

    I'll see myself out.

If you don't recall me saying a bad word against Rashford you have not been reading my posts. See the one above for instance.

    I don't recall your question.

They also got rid of Herrera, Mata, De Gea and a few others during that time but I don't remember their attitude being questioned or them all being grouped together. Strange.

Rashford hasn't been good since the start of last season. United finished 8th and are now 12th. Is Rashford not being good the cause of that? (I actually think it could be considering he carried them the last time they were somewhat decent but that's forgotten now)

If he was so bad then others would be thriving in his absence which didn't happen last season and isn't happening this season. For him to be the talk of the town and hated on constantly is not representative of his contribution or lack thereof.

Imagine this thread with no rashford chat. Edit scratch that it ain't gonna happen. If he scores a goal in 5 years we'll still have someone comment on it! I actually like him and think it's a shame he's leaving. It's definitely best for everyone involved and if we manage to get a decent fee for him then even better. I still hold a small bit of hope for Rasmus but it's getting harder every week to justify him playing. He is offering very little in most games unfortunately

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

Should also be commended at just how much of a blinder Villa are playing here. Quids in for Duran and getting Rashford for a portion of his salary.

There's a team being run properly. Duran a good player but they could be upgrading for a small portion of what they received.
