Meanwhile in the real world mack hansen gets a 3 match ban for speaking the truth.

Jac Morgan had a good game. Other than that Wales were completely dominated.

They look terribly coached which is a bad reflection on Gatland. But they also don't have the players to win games. Which is a far bigger issue than coaching.

And Ntamak's hair will be worth a further game reduction too.

For implying the ref was a cheat and conspiring against Connacht? He should have got twice that.

The reduction is calculated as a percentage starting at 0% up to a maximum 50% based on an assessment of the factors above (e.g., the height of the players hair may merit a 50% reduction for mitigation – please note this is just an example).

Huge PD for France, I assume Wales will target Ireland in Cardiff, I can't see them beating us but I do think they'll put points on the board.

Mtamack is a goner, he'll surely miss at least two games and should miss more. Could cost France the 6Ns

I'd be shocked if they got within 2 trys of us

bad news for england next weekend if ramos plays in N10, better than Ntamack

    anyway, brilliant tries for France

and Dupont is still the best player in the world…

I agree on ramos, some player and for me Frances most important player.

The ball went 3 meters forward. The winger had to reach forward to catch the ball. If dupont was travelling in a car at 80km an hour I can agree with a the ball going forward 3m over maybe a 10 m distance. It was clearly forward. Dupont would have scored if he didn't pass. Hopefully the ref calls it straight tomorrow and we beat England without any controversial calls

Yup. Any game he's available for counts.

6 weeks reduced to 3 due to his clean record. I think the tackle school thing is gone, but if not it will be 2 weeks.

France don't rely on their 10 when Dupont is playing. Dupont plays as the first receiver and primary playmaker.

NtaMack will be a loss, but they have plenty of other 10s who can step in as long as Dupont stays fit

    Ban billionaires

Just realised that it looks like Ntamack was getting revenge on Thomas for a (lateish) tackle in the build up to the Gailleton.

I don't think losing Ntamack should hurt them too much. They have another couple of guys who could play at the same level if Dupont stays fit. Interesting to see whether Itay bring their best form to Murrayfield tomorrow. They have an excellent attacking team if their forwards can stay in the game.

totally deserved ban. the alternative would not be good

Poor old Wales didn't fire a shot all night never mind land one. They were pretty committed to the defensive cause though, about the only hope i have for them is that if they could keep a less prolific team scoreless and frustrated they might gain confidence and build into a game. I really thought last night could have been 70 to 80 points like toulouse and bordeaux have been racking up, Wales not really much stronger than the teams that conceded those scores but fair play to them, they fought.

I still expect them to end the tournament with 5 losses, 17 in a row, thats a crazy number. Then 2 tests in Japan, where they can at least go almost full strength as they won't have many Lions missing and hope to break their streak. They probably will win a test in Japan but they'll need to be good to do so.

I'd expect Ntamack to return for Ireland hane, his suspension won't be massive. I'd guess Ramos will deputise as long as he needs to, great player and has the temperament not to make bad decisions under the type of pressure English defence will bring, they have dupont to worry about too so they can't just hone in on the 10. Plus the frightening pace on the wings and the accuracy of cross field kicks means teams can't be narrow against them either.

We will know next weekend if it's a 2 horse race or 3 after England have played both Ireland and France, I don't see Scotland challenging this year for top spot, more challenging for top half. Great backline but forward pack not as good as the genuine contenders.

Would they possibly move Dupont to 10? I think Le Garrec is is absolutely brilliant and could be a way to get him in the team. Ramos to 10 is probably more realistic though.

Would Jalibert not go straight to 10 or is he injured? He has been flying it with Bordeux

They could do it and it might work but against England away in 6 nations, I don't see it.

He had a sissy fit and being dropped to bench or out of 23 altogether one match and left the squad last year. They say the door is open for him and he's a good player but there's still differences to be reconciled there

No actual mathematics were harmed in the making of this post.

At 20kph (a quarter of your hypothetical speed) an object will travel almost 6m in one second.

Yes, but the pass looked forward from the hands, and drifted forward several metres. It's getting out of control what they're letting go these days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,371 ✭✭✭OldRio

The referee last night was excellent. He did exactly what the rugby powers wanted. He let the game flow.

Just because he missed anything controversial and laws being broken is a minor downside because the game flowed.

The speed of the game is everything and making it more accessible to general public is paramount. Foul play and non decision making is a small price to pay.

    Tongue in cheek.

Rugby has a serious refereeing problem....

We all know Wales are shìt and France will hockey them 10 times out of 10...however, the officials also know this and are subconciously making marginal calls in favour of the stronger team....

Rugby is full of 50/50 marginal decisions...e.g at the breakdown and scrum penalties....the Welsh effort and aggression in defence was superb last night but the ref ultimately knocked the stuffing out of them....

"Yes" Then proceeds to argue against accepted facts. 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,016 ✭✭✭TheRona

A player running at full pace could pass it 10-12m forward and still be backwards due to momentum. This doesn't mean 10-12m forward passes should be legal, and of course they get called back every time. 🙄

Now we're in the realms of makey uppy hypotheticals.

Dupont was ahead of the winger all the way in to the in goal. bUt It WaS fOrWaRd

I was bored of this when the try was scored. Move on. There's more rugby today I hear.

That Dupont pass appeared to me to be a forward passw.

But it wasn't and I can be certain that it wasn't

    Why ?

Because the Referee did not judge it to be a forward pass.

    The end.
