Maybe I'm aiming too high expecting you to recognise a deliberate misquote.

Probably no official deal as such. What would happen normally between 2 mature responsible governments is an easy face-saving solution. USA continues to state that Colombia has agreed to all demands including military aircraft. However as it transpires going forward, USA just happens to only use commercial aircraft, for 'internal operational reasons'. A diplomatic solution where both sides get to pronounce victory to their own domestic audiences.

All the discussion around race, gender, transgenderism, DEI etc. is a massive distraction.

What should be at the very top of the agenda is the stupendously unfair distribution of wealth and power. That is the divide that 99.9% of the population should be focused on.

A handful of highly intelligent but weird, egotistical, unsociable and autocratic bullies are enriching themselves unimaginably and gaining ever increasing control of global media and politics. This is the problem that won't end well.

MAGA exists to maintain the status quo in this regard. They push identity politics for this reason, backed by corporate media and social media grifters and masses of people lap it up and ask for more.

Oh it’s ok, there will be Americans waiting and willing to get to work for their country, like the patriots they are.

The majority of people in America came dangerously close, at one point, to being unified on the idea that there is someone MASSIVELY profiteering in the US healthcare system, and that it's incredibly wrong for life-saving medicine having its sale price being massively inflated over its cost, just because the copyright holder can get away with it 'cause that's how capitalism works.

But, the news networks in the USA will never cover that, nor 90 percent of their politicians. These same companies are sponsors and lobbyists respectively. So, instead - ALERT - a woman who looks butch has just entered the women's toilets.

The thoughts of a fat American in a field picking berries is hilarious.

On a serious note, ironically they won’t run out of food, they’ll run out of workers to get the food. Just watch Musk chime in saying a robotic humanoid can be made in a week to do all the work blah blah blah

Dr Phil seems to be out fronting the start of the round up of immigrants facing charges or convicted in Chicago. It's hard to see the sanctuary city concept surviving this administration.

Exactly. It's a plutocracy whose survival depends on working class Americans never figuring out that they've more in common with working class LGBT people, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, etc. If that happens, they're done. I'm a capitalist but capitalism needs a sensible regulatory environment in which to do its thing and there isn't one over there.

If it's not picked, it'll rot. Simples. Anyone would have to be insane, stupid or desperate to do crap work like that for a paltry few dollars an hour or less.

I see that MAGA thinks we're supposed to be impressed with the human tumour that is Phil McGraw, or to use his proper medical title, Phil McGraw. He should stick to the form of grifting he's capable at.

”If it's not picked, it'll rot. Simples. Anyone would have to be insane, stupid or desperate to do crap work like that for a paltry few dollars an hour or less.”

And herein lies the issue, people who do this are indeed desperate, and it’s what the American economy is used to as well as a function. If they employed American workers on a fair wage, the price of fruit would be as high as gold.

one week into Trumps 2nd term and Mel is back to the top of the box office. America is hungry for Mel Gibson.

From what I understand the Epstein files have all been released, last year I believe. Several sets of court files released and the last in January of 2024. Maybe there are other files elsewhere, but from what I can gather they have all been released.

How did you come to that conclusion. You'd have to either look up the film online or look closely at the poster to find out Gibson is involved.

That's not correct, there's still sealed documents and many of the released ones are heavily redacted. Meanwhile there's not gonna be a drastic shift in terms of what we know about the assassinations.

If you are referring to Trump, the court did find that he was not liable for rape, so the assertion that he is a convicted rapist is in fact liable. Repealing Roe V Wade meant that it took this out of the constitution and sent it back to the states. In Ireland we had a similar thing where the 8th amendment was repealed and removed abortion from the constitution and I believe it has no place in any constitution. It was ok to be proud to remove abortion from the Irish constitution and so it should for any country including the US. The outcome however, will not be something that everyone agrees too. That's democracy for you, but we don't get to throw our toys out of the pram if things do not go our own way, that's just immature.

    He did.

Can't get much clearer than that.

The abortion debate isn't remotely similar. In Ireland, it was a case of updating the constiution to remove something that had no business being there. In America, it's about stripping women of their rights. There was nothing democratic about it since most Americans support abortion rights but of course, we can't have rule by democratic majority, now can we.

You completely miss the point. Someone proud of removing Roe V. Wade, which in reality was removed based on legal technicalities over jurisdiction, isn't someone who puts protecting women first. Roe V. Wade protected women. Look at how many in the US are dying because they can't get medical treatment in 'no abortion' states now. Roe, with its flaws, was good for women's safety and health. Trump rejoicing in repealing it, says what he thinks about protecting women. As did the Access Hollywood tape (no one's ever refuted that), or the E. Jean decision.

So, someone above reposted some nonsense about Convict Trump protecting women. He doesn't, full stop. He might've even raped his first wife at one point, too. Pulled her hair out and beat her per the scuttlebutt back then.

Yes a headline from a rag such as The Washington Post would influence many. The reality is that the jury did not find guilt of rape. Later the judge dismissed their findings and has said that the allegations were 'substantially true', the judge's words, not mine. A finding was made for sexual assault. As much as sexual assault is abhorrent, it is not the same as rape. The judge cannot say with 100% certainty that rape occurred because it was not to have happened by a jury. The judge is one "who just takes a great interest in the evidence, and in both sides of the case" according to federal prosecutor Elisha Kobre, so I'm sure Kaplan is an extremely competent judge. Fun Fact: he was appointed by Clinton, who, as we know was a sexual predator while in the White House taking advantage of a young intern.

If in the US, abortion was removed from the constitution and all States had full access to abortion, then I'm sure it would be no problem at all, nothing to see here, but because it did not turn out that way, it's a problem of course. It's one of those things that can really drive people insane, this is why I stay away from it, it becomes extremely heated, endless rabbit holes and it's very rare for people to change their minds.

I might be slightly out of touch, but what is a scuttlebutt?

The rumour mill. Old nautical term, closest equivalent would be 'water-cooler conversation' since the scuttlebutt was a water container. (Maybe it still is, I've no clue)

    Prove it.

I'm more interested in what Trump will do than what he has done. I smell the usual maga gaslighting here but I'm interested to see if you have anything more than the usual denials.

Since your level of understanding of human biology is that of a child, your hogwash on the subject can safely be ignored.

Also, you talk of gender, gender is a societal construct. And even biological sex doesn't comform to your preconceived ideas. You should read this article, I know you won't, but here it is anyway.

Any chance Trump might threaten Ireland with say 25% tarriffs unless we hand over Corporation Taxes from American Multinationals to the US? He would say the US are entitled to this, they have been robbed for years
