Among those released as part of Trump's mental Jan 6th pardons are those who tased and beat that off-duty officer, Michael Fanone. Fanone is now seeking court-ordered protection from those same people and their sympathisers. Absolutely crazy stuff.

What mealy-mouthed equivocation do Trump's cheerleaders on here want to put forward?

    @scotchy

My new on line thing is checking to see if Google Maps have re named the Gulf of Mexico. Anyway, at the time of writing, it's still the Gulf of Mexico.

As far as I know, it'll always be called the Gulf of Mexico, just not in official US government communications. The rest of the world can call it whatever they want.

You disagree with "DEI" policies in employment or promotion - fair enough.

Lauding a supposed "merit based approach" from Trump and co. which is in opposition to that is just making things up - aka lying.

Most people mean suitability, competence and qualifications when talking about merit for a job, don't they? We all (incl. you I expect, if you follow US politics) know that's not how Trump chooses people for positions in his gift.

He appoints family, cronies, multi-millionaires/billionaires (who can "pay to play" perhaps, and he also measures people by their wealth). A key criterion for important posts in this new admin. shaping up is probably how much of a loyal toady to Trump the candidate will be.

Competence can be sacrificed and put well behind more important things - see the appointments of friends and family members in first term, and now some of these very odd ducks he'll have around him in this term.

Most of Americans who I talked to and voted for Trump said the cost of food and especially eggs was the main reason...

I think it's been a good start for Trump. From the MAGA perspective he's owning the libs, he's progressing the "America first" economic agenda and he's acting on migration. He hasn't put a foot wrong yet with his base. That won't last forever though. Sooner or later he'll have to compromise on his agenda.

Trump doesn't have a lot of time. He only has two years before it's probable the Democrats make gains in the mid terms at which point he'll be a lame duck president.

I guess any day the WH will be getting onto Google maps and Rand McNally.

I assume Trump's team have factored that in. So, if a week is a long time in politics, then 21 months could be practically an eternity.

He hasn't done anything except pardon a bunch of criminals including one of Americas most notorious drug dealers (who also hired hitmen to knock off two of his biggest rivals). His base will eat ueverything up so that's irrelevant

Since he took over food prices have gone up, his promise to end Russia/Ukraine war on Day 1 was a lie. Even his migration circus is a sham. Biden deported an average of around 700 people a day in fiscal year 2024 Thursday was most so far under Trump, 538.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,394 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

He's even passed ending the Russian invasion on Ukraine over to Xi Jinping, telling him to end it. No surprise really.
Trump needs to deport over 14k a day to remove the 21mil he claimed were illegal in the course of his presidency (excluding new arrivals)

As you say, the price of eggs have skyrocketed, he still has a year and a half to reduce energy bills by 50% (I've a feeling he would just place tariffs on Canada, which could cause energy prices to increase and then months later drop them and then claim he reduced energy bills, his fan base will love that. Or somehow get oil to about $32 a barrel)

He ran on emigration (failing so far), inflation (prices still increasing) but instead he's now threatening allies like Canada, Mexico, Panama, Greenland, Denmark (EU) and not ruling out using military force. He seems more focused on them, rather than China, Russia and Iran.

And yet people claim he hasn't put a foot wrong…… Trump supporters will claim wanting Canada as the 51st state was what they really wanted anyways.

I'm not sure Trump has been in power long enough to really affect the price of eggs. Wait until the tariff wars start to judge his effect on prices. Some companies are holding back on new contracts because of the promised tariffs. It'll filter on down the manufacturing chain in time.

Well, unlike Harris who actually had a policy to help bring down groceries (groceries, a word Trump only learned on the campaign term) But I suspect his supporters expected him to sign an EO to maybe freeze egg prices?

I suspect he knew all his campaign promises were bullshit, hence the reason to focus on the new enemies, Canada, Greenland, Panama and Mexico! The media isn't really talking about groceries now!

On Air Force One from Las Vegas to Miami, President Trump says Palestinians in Gaza should be relocated.

“I’d like Egypt to take people. I’d like Jordan to take people,” he tells reporters.”We just clean out that whole thing.”

    The last line...

Trump also confirmed he had lifted a Biden-era hold on the provision of 2,000-pound bombs for Israel.

The people that didn't vote for Harris over Gaza are in for a well deserved shock.

He won’t ever have to compromise on his agenda. He’ll sign hundreds of XOs that are meaningless or unconstitutional, like he’s a king.

The courts will knock down the unconstitutional XOs and he’ll attack them for being radical leftists.

There gonna be tariffs on that Canadian water?

And every last “centrist” who brings up how Biden was a “warmonger” and Donnie was somehow f*cking Kofi Annan going around spreading world peace.

I did say that we’d be here to call out the MAGA-verse on their two-faced fiction, and I meant it. Do enjoy spending the next 4 years trying to defend an indefensible position while Donnie does his best to remind the world daily why he should never lead a Lemonade Stand…let alone any nation on Earth.

So Musk appears at a far right rally in Germany and tells supporters to move away from their past guilt.

Can’t believe this is happening before our eyes.

You asked if it was probable he would try and rig the election.

    I gave you two examples.

You have now narrowed down the definition to "successfully interfering in the actual counting of votes".

The introduction of the word "successfully" changes your original question. Just to be clear, and to make sure we don't downplay this, attempted murder may not be as bad as murder but it is still a crime.

On January 6th he directly tried to interfere in the counting of votes. He may not have been successful, but that was only because Pence said no.

Anyway,to answer your new question, yes - it is probable. He has a pass from the American public for January 6, he has begun to cull Attorney Generals, he has installed Supreme court judges who say (for all intents and purposes) he cannot be held liable for crimes. Do you think Vance will say no should there be a other Jan 6? Do you not think he's not a fascist, not power hungry, not morally bankrupt?

If you have any question about that, you are delusional or disingenuous.

Isn't Jared interested in Gaza seafront real estate opportunities?

So, he's full throatedly supporting ethnic cleansing. I'm not remotely surprised.

heard Trump being interviewed a few days ago and he SPECIFICALLY mentioned the beautiful seafront along the Gaza Strip , the lovely weather, etc. So I saw it as being mentioned ONLY in the context of developing it from a financial/investment perspective. IMO , he has not a clue about the morals/ethos/psyche condition of the minds of the people in that area - re there being Muslims, Arabs , etc and they being subjected to a brutal war.

    This is a key point.

Trump has whipped up anger in U.S society, and has supported directly or indirectly the violent and nefarious actions of various destabilising and dangerous individuals and/ or groups: "very fine people".

See also people inspired to bizarre attacks etc. on the back of his politics e.g. attack on Paul Pelosi.

Until now though, there could be have been an argument that he was not 'personally involved' in what/ whom he had inspired. That may now change however given he has personally pardoned a bunch of criminals and vigilantes who are clearly his supporters. Proud Boys, Oath Keepers. His own militia. He will be directly responsible for what they might now do.

If true , then that is very, very disturbing ie we have Nigel Farrage, Trump, Boris - nearly to an extent , that French ladyand now Musk and the list is growing year on year.

I think US support for the Israeli genocide has changed world order itself. When before did you see various European countries 'speak out of turn' against the US, against the line out forward by EU leaders?

Ireland, Spain, Norway, Belgium in particular have been very outspoken RE Palestine.

France and Germany (and the UK) have very rocky relationships with Trump. Now Musk is in bed with Trump, and using arguably the world's no. 1 social media platform to both insult the democratically elected leaders of European allies, and to agitate the population of these countries and move them to the right.

The Gaza genocide, Trump's policies, US rhetoric, the war in Ukraine, Greenland, and the wildness and unpredictability of Trump is and must force Europe to reassess, come together, work more closely, and stop relying on and trusting in the US.

Also, let's face it, the US has always been a deeply violent and aggressive country. It has always involved itself in others affairs in deeply underhanded and malicious ways.

Makes sense, there’s no such thing as an X gender so why would it be on a passport.

There are difference though. Farage is an MP and unlikely to gain much traction thanks to the UK's anti-democratic voting system. Most of the votes he wants will go to the Tories once the shine wears off Labour in 2029. Le Pen is a French Nationalist. Pandering to Nazis is not in her interest given France's surrender and occupation in World War 2. Indeed, she has broken with the AfD:

    https://www.lemonde.fr/en/politics/article/2024/05/22/european-elections-le-pen-officially-breaks-with-german-ally-afd_6672249_5.html

Boris? You mean Boris Johnson? No chance there. He was and remains pro-Ukraine for one thing. For another, he is a creature of the British establishment. The sort of Trumpster rule-breaking just doesn't really fit him.

Those lefties who street protested against Biden and KH for their Israel stance in the run up to the 2024 election. They must be feeling... nah never mind - they're so dumb they won't even realise.

He also wants to "clean out" Gaza.

    Screenshot_20250126_101123_Bluesky.jpg

The voters who stayed at home, or worse still voted for Trump over Bidens stance on Gaza, were warned about this but if course it fell on deaf ears.

I read trump is targeting blue states in raids to capture migrants and send them to Mexico If all migrants were sent back the economy would collapse migrants do low wage work like cleaners waiters non union work prisoners are getting paid 5 dollars an hour to fight fires .

The reason trump won is Harris is not in touch with working class or Latino voters voters don't care about dei or LGBT rights mostly .they care about inflation and rising living costs trump went on podcasts that appeal to young male voters

    There's a cliche it's the economy

Eg people care about wages and the cost of gas to drive to work

Harris should have been on Joe Rogan and other popular podcasts to reach out to male voters Biden was seen as weak and old that's why they picked Harris to be the candidate

Just like Marxist-Leninist totalitarianism. Trumpists try to re-write history:

    https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/25/politics/january-6-justice-department-database/index.html

Hopefully the evidence can be uploaded on another site beyond the reach of MAGA.
