Presbyterian more precisely. So was George Best.

But looking up Wikipedia Hamilton’s relatives one played for Glentoran (Protestant club) and the other Cliftonville (Catholic club)

George must have felt very awkward back in the 90’s with those tense NI v ROI games.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

No clue what justified the first guests. Could have just picked any randomer off the street.

George Hamilton was fairly interesting but would have liked to hear more stories from his commentary career and his approach to it.

The last guest I liked a lot. She is deep but retained a sense of reality and humour. Saying that I thought her song was a p*ss take.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

Only caught up on the last bit - Lisa O’Neill never got her singing.

    1. Sings/talks through her nose
    2. Has that odd pronunciation of words she can’t say anything with “r” in it
    3. The Cavan accent is difficult to sing in at the best of times

In saying that though she seems like genuine soul (if a little naive/idealistic) but there must be a market for her music otherwise she wouldn’t have a career

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Obviously Lisa O'Neill is on the show so much because she is one of Tommy's "Favourite performers in the whole wide world"

For the life of me though, I can't understand. And I can get the likes of Bob Dylan/Luke Kelly/Christy Moore etc who are not really singers but story tellers. O'Neill's performances would need to come with subtitles for me!

If I was to pick a performer who O'Neill would remind me of, it would be Christy Hennessy

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Dylan has an almost god like status which places him in a different category so his singing ability is irrelevant.

I don't agree that Christy and Luke are not really singers. The major part of their respective careers consisted of wonderful interpretations of others writings.

As you mention Christie Hennessy wouldn't he have made a great guest for Tommy ?

Christie would be great with Tommy.

Great documentary on Christie Hennessy. I used laugh at him a bit until I watched it in 2008.

Old Note by Lisa O'Neil is a wonderful song. Has one or two other decent songs but her singing style can be kinda annoying after a while

Have to respectfully disagree with some of the comments about Lisa O'Neill.

An incredibly talented and unique singer-songwriter. The real deal in an industry rife with bluffers.

In fairness to Christy that is his voice, not sure why Lisa O'Neill wants to sing in the way she does. She's an Artist I suppose, but just not to my taste.

To me this stand up comedian woman interview is very interesting.

Boards is messed up so it's hard to read the thread.

Yeah she was a great guest.

Eye-opening too, as I think I possess some of those traits too.

She is an absolute lady, so very honest and upfront about who she is, a breath of fresh air.

I share many of her symptoms and mannerisms, have never asked for or considered being assessed to confirm my assumptions but most people my age grew up without giving it a second thought.

It's only since the mid 00's a light has been shone on it.

He's a father a lot of us relate to. I often saw you play worse🤣

I can resonate with this man's stories of his father and being a father

The term 4 score and 10 would mean 90 miles. So he was using an old term.

3 score and 10 more used to be the life expectancy for person.

My dad did the same with me but we were 3 score and 10 to Dublin.. the same jaunting rhyme on his knee.

A lot of people deride this show, oh it's passed its sell by etc.

Tonight I've been entertained more than all combined silly Late Late shows this season.

    Another great guest.

Going to keep an eye for Seamus, his stories look to be right up my alley.

He has a fine physique, I'd say he was a strong man on the field in his playing days. Big powerful shoulders and chest.
