Removing window boards

Hi all,

I have removed window boards in new builds but never in older homes. I am dealing with a typical 1980s concrete block house and I need to remove a window board with minamium damage to the hardwood board or the masonary/ plastering. Does anyone know how these were fixed at this time? There is visiable no screws or nails. Thanks all

Screwed, filled and then stained, usually.

Sometimes you can find that they lift slightly when tapped from below. I had to drill relief holes around the screw-heads on mine last week as the heads were rounded off.

So I managed to find a window frame from the house house that seems to have been held in with a sort of copper tube. I have never seen this before.

That's a teak window cill (not window board)- copper pipe is to drain the internal condensation from weep holes to outside. Window is probably from 1960's / 70's

That is really helpful. It is a late 1980s.
