Exactly. When arriving into the city of Limerick first impressions are what lasts.

The grey darkness of the station is not what you want to show off to new (and old) arrivals to town. Just because it doesn't leak mentioned by Mr Disgruntled above doesn't mean its not past its functional date.

Should have been included in the overall redevelopment plan but hopefully it gets picked up sometime soon.

I think you need to look up the word disgruntled, cause it's not me who's disgruntled here.

My opinion of the station is actually the exact opposite of disgruntled.

But hey, we'll all be able to go to Galway and get wet on the uncovered platforms and get on a bus out in the open after they spend €24m on their upgrade.

Well the station roof isn't leaking or dilapidated, its fit for purpose 🙄

I was in Colbert Station last year and it was really nice. Modern and clean, but still retained its historic aspects. The only meh part is the plaza out the front is a bit dead (more trees, grass/landscaped areas, benches, etc would be nice instead of just basically an open area). It's a lot nicer than Dublin City's four train stations, even if the historic parts of Dublin Heuston, Dublin Connolly and Dublin Pearse are nicer. Dublin Tara Street is a literal shed

The plaza is a bit older than the rest of the redevelopment and is very much of its time. Redevelopments in the last few years tend to have more greenery.
