I have chosen today to be optimistic rather than pessimistic. Optimistic that the damping effect of the 3 branches of government may produce some positive energy and get some things done, on areas in which things need to be done, even if people differ about proportionality.

In any case, Trump is older by almost 5 years than Reagan was when he entered his second term, this day 40 years ago, and has a far worse lifestyle, so the silly bugger will probably die in office at some point.

PS, I love that they messed up the announcement of the Chief Justice and the oath was hurried and messy with the family running in and people milling around.

Trump will grumble about that for the rest of his life. 😆

This sort of left leaning group think is prevalent across RTE and the government. The idea that 77 million Americans are wrong and they know better. Irish US relations are at their worst thanks to the endless virtue signalling going on here. A sharp lesson could be on the way, and long overdue as well.
