Notifications not showing on mobile.

    To add to the list of stuff that needs to fixed with boards.ie:

    1)The red bell notification no longer works (for me anyway) on mobile. When I click on the notification the page freezes, I have to close the browser and then reopen boards. The notification is now gone and lo and behold someone has replied to a comment or in one of my threads, but I only find out when I visit the conversation.


    2) On mobile the page is constantly jumping around and refreshing, including when composing new messages which then wipes the message you were composing lol 😂

    3) On mobile you still can’t see who has thanked a post- what is the craic with that! I would’ve thought that was easy enough to code in?

    same issue as you Tom. Do you have an iPhone which you updated a few days ago? I do and I’ve just noticed the address bar has changed.

    So this could be related to the site not being compatible with the latest iOS update?

    Hi there,

    All of these issues are being worked on in order of priority with Vanilla. The issue with site functionality for iOS users is top priority and this is being worked on. So far as I have been made aware this fix is still a umber of weeks out. I will update if I have confirmation of a fix coming sooner down the line.

    Hi Mike,

    appreciate you updating us on these issues thanks very much- however a number of weeks out to fix something like a notification to let you know someone has responded to your conversation is unsatisfactory.

    I appreciate you cant do much yourself but you might pass this on to the developer or whoever is in charge as its basically a conversation killer on the thread when your using mobile, which i would use 95% of the time.

    Again thanks for keeping us updated.

    I totally understand and I do see these issues myself everyday. Since I started here it has been one glitch after another. I am in touch with the Vanilla support and development teams everyday because as you said it is a conversation killer and the whole point of this platform is to facilitate conversation and community.

    I appreciate your concerns and you taking the time to share your views and comments.

    Any plans to move to another platform as this vanilla one seems to have been dogged with problems?

    Android user here and I have the same issues, so will the site functionality for android users be looked at as a matter of priority too?

    Any workaround for iOS users? Does it work with any browser? This vanilla shower seem to be some bunch of cowboys.

    When I click on email notifications of new posts in my starred threads, boards now opens on either page one of that thread, or some other page from years ago in middle, but always the same incorrect location for any given notification. It's not opening on the post in the notification. I've to scroll to the page bar, tap last page, then scroll down to the last post to see the notified new post. Any suggestions. I'm using Android phone.

    I think the office are aware of the issue. It's happening across many threads for many users. Me included.

    I'm not sure when the office is open again but @Boards.ie: Mike will update when available.

    Some threads opening on the linked post, but only after a strobe light battle on the phone screen as it flashes repeatedly between different landing points before settling on the appropriate page and post. It should come with seizure warning.

    They really bought a pup buying vanilla. It’s worse it’s getting. Tabs also missing on desktop since the beginning too, I’m sure that’s already flagged
