    Hi Lads, quick question; does anyone know where I can get now playing data for RTÉ stations; ie Radio 1, 2FM, RnaG, Lyric, Gold etc? Their web streams from icecast.rte.ie do not seem to include such.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Ryan

    Guys, I eventually found it using mitmproxy. I will attach the datasets if anyone needs them for just a bit of fun 🙂

    how does this work?

    if RTE Radio 1 for example plays a song from a CD or if Cian Ó Cíobháin is playing vinyl on R Na G will it show up here, or is it just if its played from RTE Radio computer playout ?

    No metadata from CD or vinyl, only the computerised playout - Jutel Radioman. They send it from Radioman to middle man software - "Rapid 4" made by AIM (hence the aimonair URL). Rapid 4 takes the Radioman "now playing" and supplements it with programme schedule information and posts it to RSS feed for RDS, streaming or website etc.

    Radio Kerry using Rapid 4 and also automatically adding orange and red weather alerts direct from Met Eireann.

    Thanks! Radio Kerry has a nice RDS setup with Long PS!

    how does it work with a pre-recorded/voicetracked programme with music, where the individual tracks are not played 'live' and the programme is played out as 'one file'

    Also, why aren't any songs played on 2FM since 6pm today not showing - so there are no tracks from Jenny Greene from 6pm and Dave Treacy's show from 8pm??, most recent song displaying was at 17:55:

    A. If the programme is pre-recorded as one file, there won't be any individual music track "now-playing" info.

    B. If the programme is voicetracked where the DJ links are inserted into a log with a music playlist, then you will get the track "now-playing" info.

    In reply to your question about no data showing on 2fm on a Saturday night, it's one of 2 things;

    1. The programmes are fully pre-recorded as described above in A.
    2. They are playing their own music from a laptop, decks or other source that is not Radioman.
