Maybe Enoch should have thought of all that before embarking on this moronic crusade of his.

Not being able to pay isn't an excuse for not attempting to collect!

All his debts need to be pursued to the fullest. Seize his property, empty his bank accounts and if that doesn't cover it then we need to start garnishing his salary.

If the likes of you or I fail to pay our taxes, we are subject to fines, penalties, late fees, interest, etc. Why does an odious character like Enoch Burke deserve favourable treatment?

Surprisingly given all of their qualifications, “thinking” appears to be a skill that eludes them when navigating the world.

Not sure if it is lack of thinking or lack of emotional intelligence, could be a combination of both. Some (not all) of the incidents that happened in and out of court would suggest that there are very little or zero skills in navigating social/functional circumstances in everyday life. I reckon that might be the result of the secluded upbringing that probably went on in the early years of their life.

However much is owed it looks like it will be thrashed out soon enough

Upon releasing Burke from prison last month, Judge David Nolan last month increased the €700 daily fine for contempt of court to €1,400 and urged Burke to give up his repeated contempt of court.

Nolan also directed that representatives of the Department of Finance and the Attorney General should attend court this month to explore what mechanism can be used to enforce the fines.

    I will agree.

Because if the fines are, in fact, being applied differently to what the court order implies, then we have all been misled.

The fines are for contempt of court, and he has been in contempt of court since September 2022, with the fines starting in January 2023.

There has never been anything to suggest that there were any exclusions, temporary or otherwise, or cessations to that ruling.

And as someone who has read the rulings for themself, (not just regurgitated media reports) I would be very surprised to have never heard about it, if there was.

And that's my final word on the subject, for now.

Unfortunately for these educated adults they are told what to think.

Don't want to derail the thread, but didn't Amni get sacked from a law firm over something trivial?

No matter what country if you have a court order to stay away from a child or a place where children gather and you keep going back the judge should as a proactive measure state you are acting in a predatory way and implement the full protections of all applicable laws for the protection of the children.

The irony of this whole twat is he in my opinion looks quite effeminate or trans themselves. I do wonder if the whole thing isn’t centred around self hatred given the family ‘religious’ values, like internalised homophobia.

If he can identify as a religious lunatic why shouldn’t a child their gender/sexuality.

Judiciary need to start getting their house in order or next pedophiles will be hanging around schools “just admiring, no crime has been committed” defence, fear and panic of others is an offence, attending that school is causing at least one child that, that’s demonic for a person who states they are Christian and God is above state.

She got fired over her hugely over-the-top reaction to a fairly trivial matter, not being invited to a lunch, iirc.

Does "hugely over-the-top reaction to a fairly trivial matter" ring any bells?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,542 ✭✭✭Raichų

no, she WAS invited to the lunch… she had a go at the person who invited her.

She also had another go at a senior partner who congratulated her on closing a case or something because his team didn’t work hard enough for Ammi’s liking. Essentially; just like her brother she way overstepped the mark.

Edit: just to add I did not realise before she had only recently qualified as a solicitor and was working with AC as her first placement- Jesus Christ talk about lunacy. I couldn’t imagine myself starting a brand new job as a brand new out of college solicitor only qualified and go taking pot shots at partners in the law firm I’m working for.

Fantastic career strategy. I don’t get it. It’s like every single of them is out to ruin their own lives. All that hard work, studying, exams etc pissed away for what?

It should never have got to that - in my view she fixated on a minor incident (something about making a point to a senior partner about her working late do deliver a project or whatever when others were out enjoying themselves) - talk about a storm in a tea cup - you’ve made me just realise something - both herself and Enoch reacted and responded in a very similar manner to an event or incident that the vast majority of the population would have handled so differently - there’s definitely a “condition” there of some kind - the hills they’re dying on aren’t worth dying on - a complete waste of career and life

It's simply an indoctrinated, unwavering belief that whatever they happen to think is correct. The slightest pushback or different point of view activates the victim button in them and they go to pieces. I don't think any of them had the chance to develop any self esteem or social skills because they were just coached every day. Seems they all still live at home and are unable to break free of this situation.

“ I don't think any of them had the chance to develop any self esteem or social skills because they were just coached every day.”

Hard for me to believe -I mean most of these numpties were born in the late 80s early 90s- they should have been growing up quoting The Simpsons, pissing moderators off on Boards back in the noughties, taking 20 minutes to download their first nudie picture on dialup- what’s wrong with the world that these people are the way they are? Very hard to get my head around it - I’m a dinosaur in terms of age attitudes and what not compared to people 30 years my junior - but I’m a fcking far left liberal compared to them 🤪

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Westernview

There was probably no evil Internet allowed at home and even harmless programmes like The Simpsons may have been prohibited as it would take time away from bible reading. I'm only guessing. They were home schooled so that ruled out influence from school friends.

I mentioned the Simpsons on purpose - it was actually quite controversial when it came out first and wasn’t particularly well received by parents as suitable viewing for young kids - but my god did their attitudes change when mass internet arrived a few years later 😀

From what I remember the original issue was that Ammi took exception to her boss taking two of her colleagues out to lunch and not bringing her along (quelle surprise). Ammi managed to escalate this and a couple of other workplace grievances to the point where it snowballed out of control and when combined with her ‘utterly appalling and egregious’ behaviour, numerous court appearances and bloated sense of self importance left her out of a job and liable for the necessary costs incurred by the WRC and Arthur Cox. And also by the looks of things left her unemployable.

While Enoch is the subject of this thread, Ammi's behaviour is relevant in that there is a pattern (other sibling's have demonstrated similar behaviour and characteristics) which assists when trying to understand their background, conditioning and perspective. The absence of a sense of proportion, the martyrdom, the absolute belief in being right, the inability to behave like adults and conduct themselves like mature professionals and the consistent disregard for the rights and opinions of others is both consistent and frightening. As the years roll on and their grievances accumulate, this could well take a truly tragic turn at some point in the future. So I would say that anything which contributes to a fuller understanding of Enoch and the rest of the clan's self destructive behaviour is relevant.

No need to justify your post - all very relevant in terms of understanding where we are today with Enoch - there’s definitely a “trait” there within the family - either nature nurture or a combination of both that has led to all of these scenarios were seen played out between the family

They were all homeschooled, weren't they? That explains a lot, shouldn't be allowed...

It has played its part. It isn't allowed in a lot of countries for good reason.

I’d have no particular issue with home schooling, the mother must have done a decent enough job of it academically because they all seem to have done quite well in college.
in America there is a big push on home schooling to avoid indoctrination which given this particular case is ironic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72,887 ✭✭✭✭L1011

The push in the US is generally by religious families who want to do their indoctrination; and oppose reality.

    So basically identical to this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Westernview

It should be fine in theory to educate a child at home but people like the Burkes are destroying this option so it seems unworkable to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,664 ✭✭✭✭salmocab

Yeah i know I was really making the point that it’s ironic that it’s to avoid indoctrination when all it is to give them the indoctrination the parents want to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,542 ✭✭✭Raichų

well to be honest home schooling certainly does have plenty of downsides and a lot of them are surrounding a child’s social development.

I would definitely agree there’s something to be said for their current state and the fact they were homeschooled I don’t think the two are irrelevant to each other.

Academics isn't the only reason people go to school…

Depends who is doing the home schooling, if it is bigots and asshóles.

    You're in trouble.

Is it 2 weeks since the schools returned?. Anyone know if he has turned up each and every day since?. Just wondering what is going to be the next 'milestone' on the ground as it were?
