Man who has no choice but admit he was cheating because it was so obvious he was cheating now "having fun with you haters" about how he made people point out he was cheating.

Yes, the joke is surely on us.... Boy did we fall for that clever ruse!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭Cordell

Seriously now, do you think he really cares? He's just being a troll and an attention whore and it's obviously working.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,527 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Yes, because why else would he pay someone to get his account to such an insanely high level, and then on-stream act like it's his account and he's great at the game?

He's a f*cking billionaire in charge of some of the biggest companies in the world and currently has the incoming POTUS's ear on matters of policies, the running of governmental departments and the economy.

If he actually cares about this, he's pathetic. If he doesn't care and is just trolling for attention, he's even more pathetic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,934 ✭✭✭✭VinLieger

He absolutely cares, if he was trolling he'd be out bragging about how he trolled everyone because of how he always has to be the smartest guy in the room he wouldnt be able to stop himself. The fact he's not bragging about trolling is just another thing thatproves what people suspect is true, he paid someone to make him look good at a game because his ego is that fragile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭Cordell

He's trolling for attention and he has been doing it for years. And you give it to him, go you :)

I don't know what's more pathetic, a billionaire pissing away his time, money and credibilty on ego stroking nonsense or his fanbois running to his rescue & white knighting for him, trying to frame it as merely trolling for the lulz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,527 ✭✭✭✭Penn

The attention he wants is from sycophantic arse-lickers who'll tell him how great and hilarious he is. He doesn't troll for the negative attention, he trolls for the positive.

The latter. Musk could at least pretend that having a high level character in some game is part of his nerd/austism/whatever brand but lads getting into hissy fits because someone on the internet criticised Musk is just completely senseless.

You're missing the third option, the most pathetic ones are internet nobodies who are constantly watching him and venting their anger and hatred - he's living rent free in their mind.

If we didn't need reminding, these free speech absolutist are only interested in free speech when it accords with their own opinion.

What they really mean is the feel they have the right to be listened to no matter what they say and the right to put down others opinions whenever they feel like it. The place where words like libtard or woke as a pejorative come from. Dismiss an alternative opinion through ridicule rather than argument.

What is acceptable is "i disagree with your opinion because a, b and c". What we get is "stupid libtard" and "woke"

I think you will find its the opposite as you said it yourself hes the one desperate for their attention and approval by pretending hes such an awesome gamer, everyone else is really living rent free in his head. Also if the people criticising him due to what he says and does are so obsessed what does it say about you when you are the one here desperately defending him every day.

He paid someone to level up his character in a game, in order to get caught out, in order to troll us for the lols.

    Is that right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭Cordell

I can't pretend to know what was in his head, but I can assume that he was ok with both outcomes: while he wasn't caught some people he enjoyed the attention of people, and after the inevitable getting caught he was again the object of attention of his haters. I'm pretty sure he didn't think he won't be caught, he's everything but not dumb.

Any time I see people use a term like "hater", it just makes me feel like they're proving my point for me. I've never seen the appeal of worshipping someone who thinks I'm just scum with ideas beyond my station but to each their own.

I'd actually say he's incredibly pathetic in terms of his behavior. Some examples.

    1. Accused a scuba diver of being a paedophile cause he said Musk's idea was stupid.
    2. Took jabs at his daughter for transitioning in interviews and on podcasts. She has full on disowned him.
    3. Managed to buy a platform and drive a huge proportion of its users aways. Also plenty of its advertisers too.
    4. Obsessively impregnating women via IVF cause he's under the deluded impression that he's some kind of a master race.

And that's just a sampling. On a personal level, his treatment of his daughter is the sign of a truly pathetic man. His relationship with his children seems odd to say the least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭Cordell

There is no denial that he's a truly horrible human being. But plenty of people who have come against him are just as horrible, if not worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,554 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

And he more often than not goes after innocent people. In fact more often than he often props up the other horrible people… But going back to my point, in spite of all his wealth, he's pathetic and nasty as an individual. If he dropped dead in the morning, he has children that wouldn't give a **** because of how he has behaved. That says a lot about him as an individual.

Charlie Hebdo trolling Musk, can't see him liking this but on the other hand can't see him doing anything about it either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,370 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Does that include the scuba diver he went after? How are you going to try to excuse that?

So what's the point of remarks like "plenty of people who have comer against him are just as horrible, if not worse."

Another cop out answer. You have multiple posts now demonstrating your reluctance to criticise Musk without reservation. Each time there is a dig at the people bringing up Musk's vile or embarrassing conduct, or both sides nonsense like this. Always some excuse must be attempted - transparent ones at that.

Actually if he would drop dead his legacy will live on. And in time, and not even in a long time, people will forget how nasty we was - and the rest of the nasty people, those who for no good reason hate him and want everything he touches to fail, they will be just nasty and nothing else.

It'll be interesting to see how they legacy develops over the next ten to twenty years.

By the looks of it, the longer he lives, the worse it's going to get.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,554 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

That still doesn't negate him being pathetic and plenty of successful rich people have legacies that are substantial but the individual is viewed as pretty atrocious. Henry Ford, Walt Disney and Lindberg all born into pre social media worlds but still over the decades their reputations have gotten worse and worse. To assume that his legacy will be viewed positively is a big leap.

Let's just remember that Howard Hughes is not remembered for his successes. An oligarch man child influencing wars and governments will come across as a hell of a lot worse in the history books.

Also I'd tend to view anyone who fawns over white supremacists to be loathsome. I guess you make exceptions if you think they're owning the libs or whatever.

What legacy would this be? Taking on of the most profitable businesses ever and running it into the ground?

There are plenty of famous people who's hatred is a core party of people's memory of them. Henry Ford and Walt Disney are just two examples. JK Rowling's done a great job joining those ranks.

    Yes. He 100% cares.

Time and time and time and time again he shows how he craves acceptance and recognition and genuine love.

He selected the path where he thought he could buy it and he's finding out he can't.

The irony is, if he had shown that he had empathy, compassion and love within himself, he'd have found a place on the left who would give him what he desires.

But he doesn't, and he didn't, and here we are. He'll continue pretending he's living the life he wants and the right will continue pretending he really is until he loses all value to them. Which might not happen given his wealth, but he ain't ever finding genuine warmth over there.

He made his bed, he's gonna lie on it.

I can see the same happening for Trump, Clinton, Bill Gates etc. **** people who get away with being **** leave a path of destruction in their wake. Once the intimidation stops and the hush money runs out the books get published.
