Same here, and I'm old enough to remember when it first came out which was about 37 years ago! and i did like it back then. Absolutely hate it now. Played to f##King death and the same ole same ole controversy.

I'll be murdered for this, but in the last few years I've grown to like Christy Moore's version more than the original.

Used to be a program on RTE featuring Irish musicians, had Sinead O'Connor, Christie Moore and a lot of Irish artists. I had it on in the background one night, was cleaning g the house or something. Then I heard this fabulous.voice singing capella. Literally stopped me in my tracks. Didn't recognise the person, young, slim very striking man with long hair. It was Brian Kennedy singing Captured. As a singer, the ability to draw in p3opl3 like that is a real gift.

Different thread I suppose, but there's only a handful of times this has happened with a singer, song, or performance. These are the memories that stay with us as we navigate life. Anyway, sorry for taking thread off topic, when you mentioned Brian Kennedy it took me back.

The Thrills do have one song that I like called “Whatever Happened to Corey Haim?” These days though people are wondering whatever happened to The Thrills.

You just know that some asshole KPI merchant at Bauer Media thought that would be good for "engagement metrics".

Either that or some Tiktok twit dug it out.

His version of "put the message in the box" from Hardy Bucks slaps hard, needs an extended version

She’s slipped back into obscurity again after her Eurovision performance, as I predicted she would. She’ll probably move onto other projects under her real name or as different pseudonym.

Falling to Pieces by The Script - The song has been played to death on Irish radio since 2008.

Human by the Killers. Hate it.

Love Shack, B52s. I've detested them ever since they released an album called Whammy! back in the early 80s and my elder sister played it constantly.

Here’s Where the Story Ends - The Sundays. This 90's song came on the radio in the car last week and i had forgotten how much it is such an annoying repetitive song.

Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls. A song so irritating, made worse by the fact Ronan Keating even covered it.

Babylon - David Gray. This song was everywhere at the turn of the millennium. Overplayed drivel.

74/75 - The Connells. Another 4 minutes of earache which was a staple of mid 90's rock radio.

I Try - Macy Gray. Awful song

One of Us - Joan Osborne. Lyrics that could have been written by a 6 year old

    Tiffany - I think We're Alone Now

Why is this still in regular rotation on pop radio stations?

Can anyone explain to me what "I've been kissed by a rose on the grey means". Did you know that when it snows my eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen. Pristine bullsh1t thats up there with I am the walrus.

What's a champagne supernova in the sky? - More utter nonsense.

"Once I was 7 years". F@@ck off. Everyone who's older that 7 used to be 7 years old you c@nt.

That 74/75 is totally depressing. That also reminds me of another one….once there was a boy who got into an accident….mmmmmmmmm….

    Same depressing kind of tone

Black Betty. Awful song. Played to death many years ago. Always hated it.

    M @ niac - I couldn't give a sh1 te if its being played at a wedding or a murder trial

Any of the famine music that's popular at the moment, Dermot Kennedy and the likes. Moaning over a slowly strummed guitar is anathema to me, I can't listen to it.

The disrespect for some stone cold 90's bangers here is shocking 🤣 Give me Seal or Crash Test Dummies any day over the absolute congealed shite that passes as music these days

Anything by Gavin James, Dermot Kennedy, Picture This, Kodaline, The Coronas and Villagers

Man I feel like a woman by Shania Twain - Absolutely awful from start to finish. Q102 in particular plays it to death.

Anything by The Cranberries - They seem to be put on a pedestal in this country although Dolores’ voice grates my ears and most of their hits are dull as dykewater….and I’m saying this as a person from Limerick.

Mike + Mechanics - Over My Shoulder

Take That - Back For Good

Both songs make me feel physically ill

Dilemma - Nelly Feat Kelly Rowland.

Terrible repetitive lyrics with Kelly Rowland singing "Ohhhh!" every 5 seconds

When that came out I thought the backing vocals sounded like a dog howling, and still do.
