Hi non techy here.I’m away for a month and I’m staying in an apartment with a smart tv . I would like to get my Irish channels on the TV . It is a Samsung similar to my home tv. I can sign in to my Netflix and YouTube tube but would like to stream things from Rte Virgin media etc. I have hooked up to the same internet at the tv . I have a Samsung streaming app and it picks up the tv and says connected. Then I go in to say Rte and press the symbol and it says no devices found.
I can’t see what I’m doing wrong. I would be greatful if someone could offer me some help please .Thanks in advance

The TV needs to have Airplay capability. Do you know for definite that it does? The presence of the Apple TV app isn’t a sure fire way of knowing, but if it’s there it’s more likely it does.

Apart from that tapping the AirPlay symbol in the app and selecting the TV should be all you need to do.

I’m not sure if you mean to infer that you’re outside Ireland if so there may be rights issues with the content you’re trying to stream (and the charter doesn’t allow us to discuss that aspect) but that’s a different issue - the content won’t play on your tablet either if that’s the case.

at worst you can go back 10 years and buy a HDMI to Lightening/uSB-C adapter (depending on the age of your iPad). I always found that more stable than AirPlay.
