    Hi all

My H37XL unit needs to be replaced, the buttons are broken and I'm not able to turn it off without killing the power at the fuse box

We have two wired thermostats , one downstairs and one upstairs , any recommendations on what to replace it with? I'd like to be able to control it using wifi and create schedules etc

I saw the unit they are replacing the H37XL with not sure that will work with wires thermostats?

One option would be to do away with it altogether and instead use programmable room stats. These will give much more flexible time and temperature control, and you can have an app if required.

There are several suppliers in this market. Maybe have a look at Heatmiser Neo & and Hive Thermostats.

So I would put a stat in each room then? How would each stat manage the individual radiator in its room? The main box can usually only have a few different zones and not one per room?

No, I’m just suggesting replacing the two wired thermostats with time/temp programmable ones.

Effectively integrating the function of the Horstmann time clock into the thermostat.

Would be more in the field of an electrician.

Effectively, the existing time clock would be gone altogether.

The new thermostats would be smart ones with digital touch screens. On these you can program when the heat comes on and off (like the Horstmann could) but additionally to what temperature it heats the zone at those various times.

You can also have an app link to the thermostats to do everything remotely.

It is how any new house is done nowadays. The Horstmann was a good solution in its day when thermostats had no time control / were not smart.

if you like the set up you have and you just want the horstman H37xl replaced, Id be fitting a eph R37 3 zone programmer.cost effective solution. smart controls are not for everyone.
