As the title says, I have found the exact paint I want, after many many many testers! Unfortunately it is a Farrow and Ball really expensive paint!

Is it possible to get the exact shade mixed up in the likes of paint shops/woodies etc?

Sure it is. Do you have a colour trend store near buy? It still might be expensive but spreads well and the quality is very good

MRCB in Christchurch will make up a paint in basically any brand you want. Colortrend is great, not the cheapest but the one I'd always go for.

If you're close enough, try the guys in the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun, they're really good & reasonably priced

They don't do exact colour matching though.

A question that gets asked a lot.

    And the answer is.... Maybe..

While the above answers are correct, you can get it mixed in a cheaper brand, it may not be exactly 100% tha same. Each paint manufacturer will have their own specific base for the specific colour, so a 100% match is nigh on impossible.

The thing is unless it's way of you aren't really going to notice the difference. Paint will look different on different walls even in the same room.

5ltr is plenty to do an AVG size room.

Cost difference. f&B is probably in the region on 125 per 5ltr while Colourtrend is ballpark 100. Perfect 5lt . This is for Matt finish.

Unless it was to patch up parts of an existing coat of paint, most people wouldn't need a 100% perfect match.

If you are near a homebase store, you just might get it in their closing down sale.

Also B&Q normally have a 3 for 2 sale on paint at Easter.

If it's not an urgent job, and you are buying a lot, it's worth waiting.

But easy for any mixing shop to mimic a F&B colour

I am pretty sure any actual paint shop (i.e. not the likes of Woodies) can do colour match and can mix any colour in any brand of paint that they have in stock.
