Avant money credit card app no longer showing spend notifications

    Is it just me or have avant money removed transaction notifications via the app?

    Can no longer see it in settings either, awful pain

    I noticed that the app stopped sending notifications after I changed my phone last weekend and I thought it must be something to do with the new phone. Maybe it was just that my timing coincided with Avant Money changing their policy on notifications. Hmmm…

    If that were the case, then it would be a reason for me not to use it any more. Transaction notifications is any important measure against hacking, so it would be like putting a target on their backs…. are you sure of this?

    Same for me. I updated the app a while ago and since then I've stopped receiving the notifications. Would be a big step backward if they've removed this as it was really handy to be able to see activity as it happened without having to log into the app. Might summon up the motivation to ring and query it at some stage

    This is not the first time this has happened. I was without notifications a lot of the time 2023-4. Think the last update broke something and it will come back sometime. You can call but dll they'll do is log it, won't speed up the resolution.

    Being on able to transmit notifications would be a serious security breach as most people rely on it to prevent having their account hacked. So I'd expect to see a lot of traffic about it, but from a quick Google, all I can find is two threads from here!

    Is it possible that notifications have been somehow accidentally turned off or the particular device is no longer supported?

    If it was just a device setting I'd expect all notifications to be stopped but 2FA authorisations are still showing up as a notification.

    I really don't know… it's just that it's such a fundamental security check, that you'd expect a lot of chatter about it.

    I rang yesterday. 25 minutes on the phone. Girl had no clue about it other than allowing notifications but did try to ask colleagues. Said she would raise it as a query and someone would ring me back today. Heard nothing and don't really expect to. I'm guessing that it's not gone for all customers otherwise the staff would know about it.

    Yes, it seems to be a very limited set of circumstances…. and not a situation I'd like to be in.

    I awoke one night last summer to a notification that someone out of Thailand was trying to by US lottery tickets with my card! Of course it went no where, but I would not be comfortable know that I'm not getting bank notifications….

    Phone app working ok for me. Did get a notification to update the app this morning. Hopefully they've reinstated the spend notifications as part of the update.

    I received a spend notification at 14:30 for something I did yesterday. Hopefully a sign that they've fixed the issue although a >24h delay isn't great. I'm guessing that was just the backlog getting pushed through.

    I got two at midday for spends I did just then and then got one a few mins ago for one I did yesterday. Looks like they may have made some steps to get this back up and running which would be good.
