Not something I will watch personally.

    Rory changes like the wind.

Scheffler would beat the 3 of them even if the 3 were allowed a best score per hole to count

Personally I think he could beat the three of them combined more often than he would lose.

I'd doubt it, if they played 10 times I reckon he might only win twice. The other three playing better ball would shoot a ridiculous score

maybe the mentality of knowing it was 3 against 1 might impact their standard of play:) Golf is predominantly a game that is about your mentality!!

Good to see Rory sticking to his word and playing less. This only 1 round instead of 4

So Norman is gone. Definitely help with him gone to fix everything up

Rumour mill is saying it looks like Finau may have joined LIV?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,910 ✭✭✭Trampas

Blubber has to explain why he should stay in Liv since he’s in the relegation zone

Anyone know where/if we can watch tonight’s “Showdown” on TV. Google tells me TNT in UK but no sign on guide?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 414 ✭✭brousuka

I just read that TNT UK/Ireland will not show it live, only TNT USA. Hence It’s not on the sky epg for any of the TNT channels. 😡

Some golf from Rory so far

    -3 thru first 4 holes

He is gaming the new QI 35 driver as well.

Bryson a bit off it so far

Missed a short eagle putt to lose the first 6 holes after 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 414 ✭✭brousuka

    where did you watch this??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,918 ✭✭✭alxmorgan

TNT US channel. Don't think it was on anywhere this side of the pond.

Not much of a game - apparently knocking wedges over your house not great prep.

Lacked a bit of banter or bite. Golf course looked amazing though.

Charles Barkley on commentary without doubt the most entertaining thing about it.

    😁

Yeah, all the feedback I've seen to date is very critical of the lack of atmosphere, banter, discussion, etc...

Basically that a well edited YouTube video would have been a better product, rather than watching a couple of guys drive silently along in a buggy between shots

I watched the 20minute YT highlights, borefest, give me Bryan Bros any day of the week.

The series released from their Solina golf club a few weeks back (them/Rick/Finchy) were way more entertaining than even PGA tour events, I'd highly recommend

Wouldn't you wonder how much the LIV players are losing their value the longer this goes on? When you look at how much the world rankings change, even over 5 years you'd have to think that a lot of their players aren't the same as the ones they signed already. Sergio, Westwood, Poulter, Phil, Oosthuizen, Casey, Leishman, Bubba - they were all at least top 100 when they were signed, Louis was even top 20. If they were all still on PGA / Euro tours, would you expect any of those to still be in the top 100? And even some of their stars - Dustin, Cam Smith - I just feel those lads aren't the same players that they signed at all. From LIV's point of view, they really need to get this deal done.

Koepka is one of the few to have benefitted and after being in the doldrums

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,910 ✭✭✭Trampas

Westwood and Poulter were already on the slide. Westwood will have no ranking soon. Says where his mindset is. Couldn’t give a toss to even play some ranking events that most of the others do. He’s just happy to collect his liv payments and gamble away on the horses. Blubber hasn’t recovered from his injuries so I expect he’s glad of the liv money as he’d be struggling to keep his card.

Talk Tom Mckibben is going to LIV. Big news if true. I hope he's not. Would love to see him on PGA tour this year and how he'd get on, think for his career he'd be better experience the regular tour and hopefully things like the Ryder Cup.

Of course it's all about money but I don't think he'll be poor by turning down LIV. Still likely to lead a very comfortable lifestyle.

BBC seem to think it's happening alright…

Was looking forward to see him on the PGA tour this year.

No sign of the supposed merger.

Probably looking at it he can play on euro tour and liv. So he’s happy out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,148 ✭✭✭paulos53

I am sure it doesn't mean anything but McKibbin is paired with potential future LIV teammate Tyrell Hatton in the Team Cup 4balls tomorrow.

These rumours have generally proven to be true. I think it's very disappointing. He's also the type of player that LIV are missing - as in one on the way up. The thing is though - how will be know if he takes a leap as a golfer? How often will we see him against the best in the world?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,910 ✭✭✭Trampas

Giving up chances to play in majors. Seems like closing doors before they’re only just opening

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,581 ✭✭✭VW 1

Can still qualify by playing in DP and euro tour events though can't he? Just a lot of the bigger names aren't willing to do it

I just can't see it, he's not a big personality so surprised LIV would be after him, also he's good friend's with Rory.
