Hi there my 16 year old and his pal want to travel to the RDS for the BT young scientist exhibition

They will travel by train limerick to heuston station.

Can they then get on the bus route S2 from heuston station. Will this bring them to the RDS or close by to the merrion road?

or is there another direct transport to the RDS from Heuston.

Any info would be great, ive scrolled internet for the past 2 hours trying to find accurate info

    Thanks so much

The S2 will take them door to door. The RDS is a named stop on the route, so it will be called out.

They can also use Google Maps on their phone to show them the route and when to get ready to get off, very handy.

Also keep in mind, that if they don't have a Leap card, they will need coins to pay, DB don't take cash.

Best option would probably be the 145 and walk from Donnybrook Stadium down to the RDS more direct and quicker or 145 to Nassau Street then 4 or 7/a to RDS direct to the door

thanks for info will check take a look at those routes too. the door to door seems more appealing tho even if its a longer duration, then them having to change buses and walking as they dont know Dublin at all or the area if its safe to walk to the RDS. But its great to have alternatives, really appreciate that info, il pass it onto the lads :)

145 and walk by far the quickest route for able teenagers, the S2 would give them a tour of the south city.

I second this, 145 is a much better option. S2 will take ages.

Yes it would be very safe to walk from Donnybrook to The RDS get off at the stadium across the bridge and take a left down Angelsea Road. About a 10 minute walk.

I went to the Young Scientist with school myself as a teenager and I remember there were loads of other school kids walking down that road so finding the RDS shouldn't be an issue. Follow the crowds
