Currently using a Miele premier 300 as must be 20 years old that has got noisy of full fast spin so reducing speed as its not as loud but find clothes and sheets very wet when removed.

Google suggests dampers and springs might need replacing ? Callout fee + parts and fitting might be expensive so better get checking on new machines.

Big lad needing a reliable quality machine that lasts as looking at some only 1 year warranty. Just myself but need a 9kg or more maybe with a big door.

Thoughts to check up on folks

Make sure the current machine is level.

Go for another Miele. Their cheapest one (W1 Classic I think) is a solid yoke.

1K is out of my bracket as living on social welfare.

Machine is on level floor and the weight in it is very heavy and does not move.

Have a freezer on top .

I have a Zanussi 8kg machine, bought after my Whirlpool which had served me well for about 20 years in 2 different houses packed it in.

There's only me using it, but I bought it on the recommendation of my sister who at the time had 4 kids and a very hairy dog, so it was more or less permanently in use! Mine is on the go over 10 years now, and still as good as the day it was installed.

I couldn't get over the size of the drum and the door opening compared to the Whirlpool! Huge!!

We have a Samsung washing machine that has a 5 year warranty and 10 year motor warranty. Had one issue (out fault) and it was repaired in a couple of days. It's made in Poland and plays some classical tune after the wash. I don't want to jinx it, but I think it was a good purchase on Stephens day sale 5 or so years ago. Large drum, used every day.

Looking at Samsung but missed the 5year warranty and saw the 10year on the motor.

I was looking for a number for a M8 working in an Euronics branch and failing to respond to messages so far and maybe have to choose other people that reply?

How sturdy is the Samsung as want to place a freezer on top with drawers. Same one on top of Miele.

I don't know the answer to that. We don't have anything on top of it. Ours is an older version of something like this i'd say. Give did a ring if you need details. Also, is imagine there will be a sale from st Stephens day. Note: I'm not affiliated with Samsung or DID. I see their is a 20 year warranty on the motor inverter (not sure exactly what that means) now and 5 years parts and labour. ... Also we've had ours 5 years now, so that's not exactly saying anything quality wise. All I know is that is seems to be a good machine and we had no trouble getting service under the warranty.

I'm fairly sure there is nobody who will officially sanction putting a freezer on top of a washing machine!

Would you not put a shelf in between?

No not to take the weight of the freezer on plasterboard wall.

I did have one of those stands like they have for showing off above and below items. It raised it up too far to reach the top basket.

I was looking at a similar one with ecobubble and in white for E589 but arriving in January.

My LG washing machine packed up and after doing some checking, decided on a Zanussi replacement machine. Only then did I talk to the local retailer and he said that those Zanussi machines are bomb proof. Never gets an issue with them. His recommendation was after I had made my decision and he just confirmed my thoughts.

Zanussi is now owned by Electrolux.
