Ive been to my share of funerals. Never noticed any restrictions like this.

Clearly one bishop came up with this rule. If you dont like it, go to a different church.

Feel free to not bother having a funeral mass, love

    Take your stiff elsewhere

people are not going to the church because of centuries of taking money off the poor to enrich themselves, and also the riding of the young children

The priests probability had problems with 'Cultural' and 'Gurrier' funerals, so had to ban them for everyone.

What was your favourite funeral? Would you have a Top 10 list? Are you free to take a call?

This lady is talking complete bullshit. Im in the diocese of Meath and was at a funeral just last week where a eulogy was given and photo was on the coffin. Families can have a eulogy if they wish - never heard of any family in meath being told no.

I wish she would name her parish because what she is saying is not happening in every church in meath - I think the problem may be the priest of the parish who wont allow it.

When my aunt died in 1997 there was no eulogy in Mount Argus Church. In fact the mass was over in about 25 minutes as there was a memorial mass shortly after for Veronica Curtin and Gerry McCabe, and there were a number of big shots arriving in their state cars. It was so disrespectful to a very decent woman who deserved a good send off.

Eulogies during the mass for the well connected only!

Here Duffy goes, his presidential gender war against the church (just like yesterday)
