Building provider only listing TE plasterboards?

I want to get square edge plasterboard to redo the understairs WC, it seems the builder providers (Chadwicks/TJ OMahony) only really list TE on their websites.

I thought TE boards were used primarily for jointing/taping? And I thought that was more of an American thing. So that fact only TE are listed make me think I'm misunderstanding something…

Hi, I see SE plasterboard on Goodwin's but only in foilback (ceiling) so not sure if it's offered for walls.

They can be used for either, even when skimming you are going to have a join that needs to be taped before you skim.

Taping a SE joint is a bit handier than a TE though isn't it ? Less coats/time etc?

Personally I would say its easier to use TE as its far easier to hide the joint before skimming (you are not feathering it out like you would with a butt joint)

Gyproc joint filler is recoatable in 90mins, so I dont think you would be waiting any longer once you have a couple of joints to do.
