Hi I got a warning from Liam the moderator for posting about Elon Musks active twitter poll to overthrow the UK government in the Electric Vehicle thread 'Is Elon Musk harming teslas brand'

    Thread here

My post was a screenshot that showed Elons current Twitter poll to overthrow throw the UK government.

I said that you would not see this sort of behaviour coming from VW, Toyota or Ford.

Liam took personal affront to this and deleted the post whilst PMing me to say that i didn't even make the post about tesla (bizarre he's the ceo)

So i updated the wording to below.

    Screenshot_20250106_114418_Chrome.jpg

I have since got another DM with a ban from Liam.

This is not legitimate moderation given the threads purpose and evens it's title. Liam is of the opinion Elon nor his behaviour have nothing to do with the car brand.

Can I get alternative moderator view on this post thanks.

Just another additional note, many posters on here aren't on Twitter and would not see such posts or news.

Its correct and right to share such topical information. Rather than suppress it, which is what has occurred here.

Oh boy thats a fun thread to read. Its in my view a perfectly reasonable post but the mod sticky states.

Mod Note: Keep comments on this thread limited to the impact on Tesla, or at least relate them to direct consequences on the Tesla brand, there's a CA thread if you want to discuss his larger influence, if in doubt PM me (@liamog)

However in my view everything Musk posts affects Tesla. So the entire thread contradicts the mod note in my opinion. I think its a pointless thread as I don't really see its point. I will reach out to Liam

I don't see how this dispute is resolved.

The moderators of the forum are basically saying we can't discuss anything related to the most prolific show person in the EV space of the last decade within the EV forum . As if what he says and does has no impact on either his own brand or the wider view of EVs as a vehicle.

This is incredible really. We can't discuss his politics or involvement in politics and how that shapes the landscape for tesla ? But if there's a good news story it's all gravy.

This isn't how good moderation is done. The person is on topic the forum is on topic. It's like not being allowed to talk about Jesus in the Christianity forum. You can talk about Christianity but don't discuss the main man.

Proper suppression going on. Is this a vehicle Value issue for moderator owners, positive news only!? Valid question.
