ALDI minced pies just dropped to 19cent

In Bagenalstown ALDI. Their cheapo mince pies which were 99c for the past month, are now 19cents.

I think it's only just dropped, as the checkout staff seemed surprised.

Were 69c a few days ago.Mustn't be able to shift them.

Two boxes bought. They are actually very nice mince pies. They last for weeks beyond their use-by, the only thing that happens is the pastry starts to fall apart.

As last year, I don't find ALDI's cheapest mince pies the best - though their upmarket ones are excellent. I think SuperValu had the tastiest €1-ish pie. But I bought 6 packs @19c - love a mince pie, smothered in custard, or ice-cream. Or that flavoured cream you only get a Christmas - but there was none to be found reduced enough for Scrooge here, this year. Sob.

Here's hoping there's some of those stollen bites being sold off cheap in the next week or so. More pigging-out…

And if ever I see mince pies in puff pastry rather than shortcrust….pure gluttony!
