    hi all

I’m looking for a recommendation for gutter repair replacement in the south Dublin area.
I was going to go with one company that has a 5 Star rating on google reviews and a high rating on trustpilot but I’m unsure if I can post their name to get feedback from people on here?
    Any advice is welcome.
    thanks.

Word of mouth much better for this, all that other stuff can be faked by u know who

You also need to see their insurance and check it

“I can’t pay my staff or mortgage with instagram likes”.

Yeah get ya but it’s hard to know who to get tbh.

I don’t know anyone that’s needed to get roof repair/gutter work done recently.

I'm sorry I don't have anyone to recommend.

But all I would say is be very careful about who you hire to do this, so many cowboys out there for this kind of work and they will break your heart if you let the wrong crowd at it.

I made a mistake of hiring some dodgy folk to do a garden job last summer that ended up in me chasing them away and then getting hassled by them afterwards.

Better to leave it leaky for a while than to get some cowboy in to look at it. Ask some neighbours if they have a contact?

Otherwise, leaky gutters can sometimes just be that they are blocked up with leaves/gunk. Can you get up on a ladder and clean them out. Might help?

    Thanks rob W.
I know exactly what you mean.
The issue I have is I got a crowd to “fix” some of the guttering last year and if anything it’s made the issue worse with leaking at the joint.
One of the joints is directly above our front door and leaks onto our step which is treacherous in this weather.
I also live on the top of a slope so the driveway falls away at a fair slope meaning I wouldn’t be overly confident putting a ladder up against the house- plus I’d need a ladder 🤣

Whenever that big snow was 2 years in a row, the snow on my roof brought down all the gutters on the front of the house.

I used Embassy Guttering at the time - can't remember where/how I got them, if they were recommended or just a google search - but they did the business, were a pleasure to deal with and didn't rip me off.

No connection with them at all, but if I had gutter issues in the morning that's where I'd be starting.
