    Hi,

I'm looking for some suggestions for a city break for 3 nights. Just looking for somewhere with reasonably good weather, nice city to walk around, good restaurants and coffee shops, not interested in nightclubs. Looking for a nice hotel at non Dublin prices.

Can fly from Dublin or Shannon.

can recommend Valencia, it’s a bit breezy and sea not warm enough for swimming but plenty to do, great coffee and shops!

Myself and my wife love Naples, been a few times now, lots to see and do in the city and slightly outside it, great buzz around the place and find it reasonable.

I'd probably go to Lisbon or Madrid (or Venice if your wallet allows). Maybe Valletta in Malta if you want somewhere warmer.

Seville is absolutely outstanding. One of the friendliest vibes I've felt in any city. Definitely ticks your weather and walk around boxes. Young, friendly, café scene is definitely there, relaxed and fun but never crazy/over the top.

Vilnius is excellent, very cheap to get there, history everywhere, English speaking in general, loads of cool places to visit and quite compact to get around, similar to Dublin.

Maybe not one that ticks the weather box for you, but Berlin is one of my favourite cities to visit, never seems to get as many mentions as it deserves but it's a big city, with a HUGE amount of history to enjoy.

Another tick for Seville. Been a few times. Was there in November.

In March it'll be early 20s temps, as good a food city as you'll get, walkable, great people, loads to see and the airport is only 15 mins or so in a taxi from the centre.

Can also recommend Marrakesh for the same reasons as above. 5 star hotels for 120 a night etc.

Lisbon a great option too. Barcelona, Madrid.

Bordeaux is great too, had a weekend there in April and it was lovely. Also like Toulouse and Carcassone.

I have booked a weekend in March to Seville, without hijacking this thread can any of you folk that have been there recommend any restaurants, bars etc? we are a group of 40 something Mams - tia

Berlin is the only city that my wifes believes she would be happy to move too, massive amount to see and do and even though its unified decades still can feel the two sides of the city.

    Great spot.

I love Valletta, and it'd be warm. Stay away from St. Julian/Sliema/north of Valetta, that's where all the package hotels/full English breakfast bars are (although I have no idea how busy they would be in winter) - if you can find accommodation in the old town/harbour area it's absolutely gorgeous. Mdina inland is well worth a visit, and people I was with travelled for a few days south of Valetta, it's more fishing villages and rural but they absolutely loved it.

We happened upon Hotel British, it's a bit Fawlty Towers (well, a lot actually! but it was literally the only hotel we could find at very short notice), but the views overlooking the Grand Harbour cannot be beaten, and if all you want is a clean bed and the option of breakfast, with breathtaking views from a balcony bar, then it's the one for you!

It's a real foodie town as well, so if you're into your grub, fill your boots.

Spot on. There's so much to do. I'm very lucky that I travel a lot and I sometimes route myself back via Berlin just even to spend a day there. Definitely has that 'I could see myself living here' feel to it.

Sevilla was lovely. Didn't give myself enough time there especially considering the September weather was still way too humid to do anything during the day.

I prefer Madrid though. Probably the only non touristy capital city in Europe. Very reasonable flights from Dublin at a good time of day.

Many of these places wont be accessible in March - use the Ryanair Router Planner (map) and specify departure airport and month and you can see what's available. Personally I've been in Brussels (snow) and Madrid (cool sunshine) in March and enjoyed both.

Malaga. Beautiful city to walk around, loads to see, great restaurants and coffee shops. Flights are great value and the airport is well served by the train and taxis.

How was your trip to Seville? we are going in March

Nice city… We walked around for 3 days and got to see lots and absorb the vibe. There's a walking tour which is really good. I think it was €5 per person. Weather was good too.

Use Uber or Bolt to transit from airport to you hotel… it's cheaper than taxi. Restaurants were good…. Full range of prices. Try to get away from "touristy" places and you'll find really good value.
