Just checked the amazon one again and it has also landed in Dublin, the amazon logistics one still seems to be in France though

The last of my .co.uk ordered deliveries landed today, (think two were coming from amazon eu) they all arrived early today's one still showing arriving Friday last night, alexa only informed me of the impending delivery after the postman had dropped it off

    That's me sorted now

Hope all get what they need on time

    Hi,

    I hope ye can help.

I am expecting an item from China with a delivery date of 23rd December as per dispatch email. The tracking says it cleared customs yesterday 19th December but no tracking movement since.

Is it usual for an item not to update for a while after clearing customs?

Yes can take a day or 2 to appear. An Post have stated if your package is in their tracking website by end of tomorrow you will have it for Christmas.

Waiting on two with Dec 20th delivery date.

I assume it's still the Holyhead issue. Won't look for a refund for at least another week.

I was at one time. It's by invitation only. They use your Review History apparently. You get sent quite a hit of stuff you'd never use though .

Unfortunately Vine is currently only available within the UK for Amazon.co.uk. This could change once Amazon Ireland launches. I got invited late 2020 when it was still available in Ireland, so got to review a handful of products until December 2020. On the 1st January 2021 they restricted access within the UK, i.e. when the UK left the EU.

During the time I had access, they provided a selection of products related to products I previously purchased, plus a selection of inexpensive products (could be phone accessories, light bulbs, etc.) available to all on the Vine programme. For any item I picked, I had 30 days to review it, including giving it a 1 or 2 star rating if deserved it. Vine participants are prohibited from making any contact with the manufacturer, etc. which obviously could influence the review / rating and also subject to a non-disclosure agreement, like reviewing for a tech website, magazine, etc. They also required keeping products for 6 months available to return, although I don't recall having to return any.

Yeah i have been in Amazon Vine for years now, and I've been send hundreds of products, including some really good stuff (Tvs, tablets, record players, watches, smart devices etc.).

Its by invite only but i always review everything i got before being in vine too, and was once in the top 100 reviewers on amazon.

Since brexit, you need to have it send to an english address, i use Address pal,(€6 per item) then they send it to an post (€3 per item) and then you pay the 23% tax on it too, so the days of endless free items are over. I only order what I actually need now.

plus they have introduced a 2 tier review section. Silver and gold. Silver status can only order products up to about 80 euro and 3 per day. And gold is unlimited cost and items. But the criteria to get to Gold is not worth it for us here in ireland.

Anyone ever buy an Amazon/ Roku stick on Amazon uk or Amazon Germany to use here in Ireland? Any problems?

You've asked this in several threads now. Whats wrong with the answers you got here for example?

Genuine question. Have you ever made a purchase on Amazon without posting a query here about it, either before ordering or while waiting on delivery?

Still waiting on two separate orders with a Dec 20th delivery date.

Both are DVDs from Europe that would have been put in regular post.

I'm still expecting they will eventually turn up. Anyone with similar?

Which Amazon did you order from?

Amazon UK deliveries are fine for me - I have Prime.

However I ordered an LP plus a couple of CDs from Amazon Germany on 16 December which didn't arrive until Friday 3 January, think the expected date was 23 December.

Have you got the "delivery running late" emails from Amazon? I got two for that particular package.

France tends to be slower - sometimes could take 10 days to arrive.

A package from Amazon was delivered fine on Saturday 4-Jan, yet for some reason was marked "Customer Refused Delivery", maybe a mistake / typo by the An Post employee.

Amazon say that the order was cancelled (it wasn't), and that the package is being returned (impossible, as I have it).

    image.png

I contacted An Post over WhatsApp on Monday morning, 6-Jan, and they said that they will contact the postman to try to update his tracking.

I asked will that update be transmitted to Amazon.

An Post advised me to send an e-mail to Amazon to inform them of the situation.

Now, as I suspected, there is no way to send an e-mail to Amazon. I tried the webchat.

    image.png

I told the webchat that I did not cancel the order, see below. There is no way for me to tell them that the package has been delivered fine.

Can I just forget about this?

Or will Amazon send me a refund which I am not due?

I had a small item refunded last year as Returned even though it hadn't been. I tried Amazon several times but they kept insisting the item was returned. I gave up in the end. Their loss.

No emails, just each order says delivery was expected 20th December.

In the past they used to say package may be lost.

Whats going on with Amazon.co.uk delivery times? Everything is at least 4 days for me with Prime at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,093 ✭✭✭✭Jim_Hodge

I don't have prime and had two orders delivered Friday that I ordered Sunday Night and Monday Morning. Dispatch was from the UK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,572 ✭✭✭VG31

They also dispatched my last two orders with An Post for the first time in months. They were meant to come today but obviously won't as An Post don't deliver on Sunday.

As time has gone on, it feels like shopping on Amazon has just got more and more frustrating.

Brexit, for one, has made getting certain goods from the UK an absolute nightmare, especially food and drink, where you used to be able to get some good deals on certain items that would be hard to source in Ireland.

Are there any NI-based UK food/drink suppliers who ship down here? Would be nice to get some Fentimans or Ben Shaws Shandy for a bit cheaper…

Anyway, because of the way Amazon work, logistically, you could order ten different items and end up with ten different deliveries and this really isn't very good at all. Amazon offer no indication of whether this will happen or not. You're pretty much left to check on your order, which you notice at some point has been split up, and different dates are reading above different groups of items. Best one is when something small you throw into your order (if only to get the free shipping) arrives in its own cardboard packet two days after everything else.

And, also, when you get a big order of stuff, go to the checkout screen, only to see that 3 or 4 of the items are arbitrarily unable to be sent to your address.

At least it'll be interesting to see what Amazon Ireland brings, but I fear it won't lead to much increased choice, but more that you'll be able to get the things you could already buy on Amazon UK, but a bit faster.

Personally speaking, I don't care so much about speed as I do about price, choice and consolidation of shipping, and would be perfectly happy to wait a bit longer on orders if this could be achieved.

I suppose, this just shows how people differ. I've had no issues post Brexit and have no problem whatsoever with orders being split, particularly if it speeds some items up.
