Assume Poland will always work, as an EU country.

If Google force people to pay the crazy price in Ireland over another EU country, they can stuff it.

That'll likely be the next step after they've finished forcing us out of Argentina/India/Turkey

As the likes of Sky have learned with Now tv, quite a bit of revenue is better than no revenue.

If Now tv didn't do deals most of the people would easily walk instead of paying a crazy price. Poland Youtube is still about 140 euro a year for a family. That is almost a tv licence. That's the ceiling for many.

I've moved to YT Brazil.. Partner's Brazilian card accepted.

Tunnel Bear worked through the Android app (browser would not work).. NordVPN is a big no no as it seems to be black listed.

But it requires the CPF (Tax number) and address to match. €6.50p.m. for Premium Family. Up from around €3.80 in Argentina. Might be an option for some..

Was a clean switch from Arg→BR

Happy days. I think google are taking the pee with their pricing.

No problem with what you are doing. As I said in OP, there are far too many posts which don’t actually say what you do. Put some more information into your posts, thats all. People new to the thread wouldn’t have a clue what you are offering.

The iPhone Turkish Apple gift card method has worked for me. Thanks to all who posted it.

Fingers crossed that it lasts a while.

I'm just wondering - does anyone in Ireland actually pay €26 each and every month for a family Youtube Premium account? - seems like pisspoor value to me.

I would think that 99.9% wouldn't know of any other option.

Only found out recently my brother does pay the €26(happy wife happy life main reason I think). So hes going to add me to his family when I get booted early January.

I know a family needs to be set up first but you can add/switch people once every 12mths I believe.

You can add people to your family easily if you have the space. The difficulty people run into in this thread is when their family is based in Ireland but the premium account was set up on foreign shores...

Tried various countries, only ones that didn't say they couldn't verify my country were Mexico and Poland so now i'm half way through a delicious bowl of Pierogi.

FYI: Tunnelbear, Edge private tab for what its worth, mastercard, irish embassy.

My method was, create new Revolut virtual card making sure it was a MasterCard, turn on tunnelbear and set to Peru, then open the YouTube app not a browser, settings, membership, renew premium. I then entered the new card details followed by a googled Peru address and it went through perfectly. Maybe using the app was what got it working, maybe it's the new Revolut virtual card, who knows?

Anyone have an issue with getting the phone verification code using the Apple/iPhone method? I got an error saying "cannot create an account at this time"

Worked fine for me. If it makes any difference, I created the account on the PC and then logged into it on an iPhone to add billing address etc

    can be issue alright.
try the alternate methods, like create apple account through Apple Music or Apple TV apps on TV, steaming device.

Hi, I got the lend of an apple device. I signed in with an apple id created for the country in question, added 390 rupees with a gift card successfully via its app store then.

Now I'm stuck: I log into my YouTube account I had previously been using (via the Apple app for YouTube) but when I select Premium, it's only showing me prices in euro on the Premium membership. Do I need to use a VPN as well to get it initially set up? I can't find anything on its app for an iTunes payment.

Apologies.. I'm also a newbie to Apple things! I did follow the vpn-tools site but he didn't seem to hit this issue...

The VPN tools guide is for Turkey signup. Turkey method doesn't need VPN to purchase.

I guess based on currency you are trying to signup in India. This may need VPN to setup Premium on the iPhone or doesn't work at all.

I did try proceeding a little further but YouTube tells me that I need to be in India to purchase via my Indian Apple ID iTunes credit. Hmm.

Tried installing a few VPNs but the device I have has iOS 12.8 while the vpn apps want 14.0 or newer. Tried connecting via hot spot to my phone with a vpn on but it doesn't send it as being via India. Finally I turned location services off on the iPad but no joy either. Sigh.

I tried various countries and repeatedly got the message that my country couldn't be verified.

    I eventually got Morocco working, €5.75 p/m.

Used Surfshark VPN and EDGE private browser.

Revoult Mastercard for payment and Irish Embassy address.

Lets see how long it lasts.

Did you have to use revolut? All working for me up to the point of paying (tried on phone and laptop), guessing it's because of trying to use my visa debit card issued here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,620 ✭✭✭NinjaTruncs

Got it working on my PC and then an iPhone.

I assume if I keep the Apple account topped up it'll just keep pulling credit from it monthly?

Did you let the Turkish sub lapse/expire first?

did you switch AppStores when logging into the Indian account?
if not then make sure you download an app on the Indian account and it should switch the App Store you are using. Might be good to delete the Youtube app and download again on the Indian account. It should prompt you to enter a billing address btw.

Should work the same as turkey without a VPN required.
