Anybody know what is the difference or use cases for these 2 cards? I have used the original a few times , no problem online.

Is the one off card intended for Google wallet and to be used at payment terminals in the bricks and mortar world of shopping?

One off card are single use only and are perfect to use when you don’t trust the place you’re paying.

AFAIK, disposable and single use are the same thing. WHen I login to Revolut, tap the cards option and click 'add a card', there are three options…

    1. Physical - a plastic card you carry in your wallet. This is optional, not every Revolut user has one.
    2. Virtual - a card you can use for online purchases and keep in Google Wallet. It has a different number to the physical card
    3. Disposable - a card which can be used once only. The Revolut app will generate a new card number after each use.

So I believe 'disposable' and 'one-off' are the same thing and refer to the third option above. It's intended to be used in a situation where you don't trust the vendor's security procedures or where you suspect that an employee might copy the card details and sell it on or use it for a fraudulent purchase. Once the card has been used for a purchase, it cannot be used again.

Some places won't accept the disposable, ie Tesco online

I can see "Disposable card," but not "One-off."

Disposable is for single use and self-destructs afterward.

Some sellers will not accept it, such as Netflix.

Some sellers will not accept it, such as Netflix.

Netflix is a subscription service, why would they accept a single-use credit card? Not very practical for the subscriber, you would need to enter the new card number on your account every month. And if you happened to use that number for a purchase, your next Netflix monthly payment would be rejected. It would be an administrative nightmare.

I believe the the seller system can not identify if it is a single-use card.

I have Netflix from another country (to get it at a cheaper price) & I have to add card details manually every month, once a month.

When you give a vendor a credit card number for a subscription and there's a free trial period so you're not paying anything at the time you register for the service, the supplier will typically hit the card for one Euro to see if the account is in good standing.

I'm guessing that either they get a code back in the acknowledgment to say that it's a single use card or the debit they submit carries a code to say it's a token charge and all such debits are rejected for a single-use card.

    A.)

Each time you use "Disposable Card" the card details change and can't be used a 2nd time.

B.) You add "Virtual Card" to Google Wallet and forget. Only for use at payment terminals and merchant does not get your actual card details. Pretty neat, used it today for 1st time.
