I'm trying to find a rear wheel abs sensor for an Hyundai Tucson 2017 1.7diesel ,I tried Mick's garage/auto parts/euro parts etc. Do I need to buy the complete hub or just the sensor?

I don't know that car but I do know that I just replaced the rear hubs on my old Ford Focus expecting to replace just the bearings instead all that was available was the complete hub assembly complete with ABS sensor.

So look to see if Micks garage etc have just the bearings if they don't then I suspect you need to buy a complete hub.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Any motor factors should have them, doubtful you need to replace the hub.

or if you want to order online then use Auto-Doc.ie

I just had that done on my 2016 Tuscon last week, and my mechanic said the hub had to be replaced, not just the sensor

Well , call me wrong, I just had a look there and seems rear hubs come with integrated ABS sensor.

few of them on auto doc there

They seem to be mainly front ones.

You can buy the sensor on it's own, it's the complete cap on the back of the bearing and a pain to fit without the proper tool. KIA Sportage/Sorento has the same set up.... Easier to just buy the complete hub assembly as the magnetic ring on the bearing can also give trouble.

Hopefully ok to update this thread. Called to a mechanic today to book my 152 Tucson in for what's likely an ABS hub change, can I ask what others here paid?

My ABS, traction control and hill assist lights came on, seems to indicate an ABS sensor but mechanic is saying he'll do the hub.

Check with a parts supplier like Micks Garage and see if the sensor and hub are all one unit or separate.

I'm happy enough to let him fire away with the whole hub, he's doing a few other bits as well. Just looking for an estimate for parts and labor. The hub itself varies from about €50 in some places to near €200 on Micks Garage

ABS sensor is integrated into the hub on the rear on Tucson's, and many other vehicles.

You may pay 400 or 500 euro including parts. Prices of labor can vary a lot.

you can get the rear abs sensor separate from the hub for the 2016 onwards tucson and shortage. Approx €75 ex vat from Hyundai or €48 plus vat with Kia

I would consider that price at the high end.?
is it an hour or 2 labour at most?

80 euro and hour labour? 160 euro?
and say 140euro for the hub? 300 euro max I would think?

Wheel bearings are a big job on some cars. Even worse if they are old and rusted
