Is there a Garda website or X account this can be shared too?

What an absolute bastard. Excuse my french, but I feel it's justifiable. 🤬

May the gods inflict him with a terrible permanent itch in a place where he can't scratch.

When my orthodontist appointment is more important than you needing to walk on the footpath.

A well-known hotspot for stupid parking, there is a school located on a traffic island 100m away

Does anyone know how much you have to pay to reserve one of these special car parking spaces?

Note while it was Christmas Eve the rush was over and there were plenty of other spaces in the car park - but none as near to the front door ;-)

Was out in Liffey Valley earlier and called into Tesco to get a few bits. Saw this gem on the way in right by the doors. There's a marked set down behind where that clown with the fog lights has pulled in.

    PXL_20250101_153138954.jpg

Was still there on exiting the shop and since there was a security guard near by on patrol I asked him why they don't clamp such idiots. He was a bit surprised at the suggestion of a clamp and proceeded to take a set of keys from his pocket and unlock the car. I then asked what was wrong with the large car park that he had to park there and via limited English he proclaimed it was a valid spot. Just told him he was setting a terrible example and continued on my way.

Interaction was all very civil and well meaning if a bit bizarre. Sure enough as I was walking away another car pulled in behind him as the set down area was now all filled with parked cars and no drivers in any.

Ah now! I know it's Mayo..... but limited English is going a bit too far 🤣.

Kerry last June, the youngest generation blocking footpath

Repeat offenders from Frylite managed to block the footpath AND the pedestrian crossing outside Dundrum Town Centre this morning.

They seemed to be doing some kind of stock transfer operation with the Pure Oil truck across the road - not exactly a great location for it.

And parking opposite the car park entrance and blocking their line of site. Plus forcing vehicles on to the wrong side of the white line to pass. Parking within 3meters of a junction not to mention parking on the pavement.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Was Mr Audi have a good reason for blocking the pedestrian route?

    IMG_8851.jpeg

Not really, just couldn't be arsed reversing properly.

Sure half the cars are on or over the pedestrian route!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,093 ✭✭✭✭Jim_Hodge

Almost every car on both sides is blocking the walkway. It's obviously not fit for purpose.

I see it all the time in City Square, Waterford. It's people leaving acres of space at the other end or dimwits parking large cars and SUVs in spaces specifically marked for small cars.

There's nothing wrong with the walkways. The problem is with drivers who show zero consideration for pedestrians, and drivers who like to drive tanks when doing a bit of suburban shopping.

I think, Andrew, that with you the problem is cars - full stop.

Generally, the problem is with drivers - full stop.

Drivers like this selfish ass in Lidl, Clonsilla yesterday, Sat 5th at around 15:00. Car park was very busy, saw a security guard near the top of the escalator upon entering so raised the below with him and they'd yet another driver abusing the disabled section without the appropriate badge.

Bird Ave, with plenty of room in the adjacent driveway, but sure let's just block the footpath instead. Bird Avenue.

I know it's not vehicle parking, but same effect. Parking your bins in a disability space outside a pharmacy is pretty **** behaviour...

    Stolen from twitter

In a post, the Derbyshire council said: “We have issues with cars double parked on Rushup Edge and Man [m] Nick on the road down to Edale. Our gritters cannot get through with around 200 cars in the area. Please move your car if you are in the area. If we can’t get through neither would a bus or fire engine. Thanks.”

The council asked drivers “not to add to the problems on these roads. We realise that people want to enjoy the Peak District, but this level of parking is making the gritters’ job very difficult.”

And, of course, it is a BMW, they don’t need 4 wheels to park like a twat.
