Actually I am getting "We couldn't verify your country." The "offer is not available message" was when I tried in another browser but wasn't logged in. Dubai is working but works out at about €12 for family.

Try this, but on ur iPhone,

Also, when tunnelbear is setup and set to Peru on your iPhone, check to make sure your connected through Peru. The google search page should show u the country ur connected to at bottom left side.

Is Peru much cheaper than Poland at €6 and Kazakhstan at €5 for an individual subscription?

Took the easy option and just went for Poland. 11 euro per month for family. Not too bad. Only two of us in the family though.

So Peru is the cheapest family price at the minute?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,811 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

The cheapest from countries that don't require a country specific card.

JUst over 8 euro a month for a family of 6

I'm getting the stupid "We couldn't verify your country" message. Both on PC using Firefox, and iPhone using Safari. Both running TunnelBear. It's saying YouTube PE in the corner, so I'm definitely in Peru. Stupid technology.

@Soarer Can you try youtube app?

I had the same problem when using Web browsers like yourself. But it worked for me when I tried Tunnelbear app and youtube app

    Thanks for the tip.
Tried it, but still doesn’t work. I’m in Peru according to TunnelBear and when I check my IP, but when I try renew in the app, it’s only giving me the euro (€) option.

Have you received the email stating your membership will not renew automatically with a link to restart your membership? I waiting until i received that and then it worked fine. I created a virtuall revolut card and used that in the payment option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,019 ✭✭✭Soarer

    No.

Got the email to say I need to update my payment or it’ll no renew automatically. There are links to cancel member and sign up again, neither do anything.
Just thinking. Probably need to be signed out if all devices I’m logged into, yeah?! That might take a while! 😂

i'd wait until you get the email

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭_John C

Yes , you must wait until they cancel your membership and give you the option to restart it

    Thanks lads.
Got the first of those two emails, but not the second. YouTube with ads is complete eye aids. Dunno how anyone could use it.

When it comes to join family etc how does that work. Is it one person sets up gets everyone's email and gets revoluted a bit?

Tomorrow is when my next payment is due and I expect it won't go through. That will end my stay in India. Is there a handy place to check the prices across countries? Or should I just go with what people have said here and migrate to Peru?

I just moved to Peru, family account is €8.21 a month. Went through fine, using Nord VPN

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭_John C

Payment just went through €8.51 😃

Youtube account now says "Renews on Jan 21, 2025"

    Success

Same here and thanks for that. Switched very easily to Peru also. Used the Irish embassy in Chile as the address and just added 00051 Lima postcode.

I used the PIA VPN app .

Same as for Peru and Chile via TunnelBear, have tried numerous times and including above steps posted in post 3386 about uninstalling YouTube app from Android phone and logging in via a new browser I haven't used previously. Each time I get the "We couldn't verify your country" warning on YouTube.

Thought it might be due to my YouTube account being logged in on some hub devices as well as YouTube Music but tried on a fresh YouTube account also to confirm and get the same issue. Looks more like an issue with TunnelBear VPN than anything else as don't think they have actual servers in Peru or Chile so surprisingly it's working for others. Tried a couple of other VPNs like Privado but they don't have Peru/Chile in the free app version.

Tried Poland using TunnelBear and get PLN prices alright so that might be an interim fix but given I was probably 4-5 years in India that extra €2-3 saving per month wouldn't be long adding up so might have to sign up for an alternative VPN if there's confirmation some work.

Maybe it's because we were in the final 30 days and hadn't actually been removed from premium is why it worked, that's the only thing I can think of that was different. I signed up the missus using the tunnelbear app and it worked perfectly, like myself she's in the final 30 days of Argentina.
