Yes I'm finding the time jumps unfolding out of sequence to be distracting… They could have played out the earlier timeline in order and then moved forward, maybe split seasons or something.

Emma Canning as the young Tula was fantastic in this episode. I think she is from Dublin but trained in London, and was also recently in Masters of the Air.

Now that was a good episode some movement and action at last. Still a lot of dull cerebral moments in it though. I get it Dune is a very complex Sci-Fi Series and set of films it's not like Star Trek or Star Wars or even Stargate.

Found myself feeling apathetic towards the outcome of the various main characters who’s life was in danger in the finale. Maybe a part of that was realizing it’s too early to kill many off. I still struggle to recall some of their names and refer to them by their position!

Have found some of the story interesting and enjoy the visuals so will stick with it for season 2.

Thought it was enjoyable enough. Travis Fimmel was hard watched, for someone who was great in Vikings, awfully one trick pony in this (the head tilt and slight tremor thing).

The ending was a bit of an anticlimax, more a step hanger than a cliff hanger. I didn't realise there was only 6 episodes so was wondering why it didn't move onto the next episode.

Very disappointed in this, bored out of my mind watching it.

A lot of it is just lazy aswell, The Voice dismissed as "just a little trick I cooked up" in EP1 p1ssed me off and set the tone for the rest, the Empire and the sisterhood look so small, likewise the Harkonnns just a small family in a hut, ridiculous.

I thought the films were boring and made no sense mostly because of Zendaya being in them but I liked this series, will definitely watch season 2 when it comes out.

The visuals are great, the writing given that it's particularly constrained by being an adaptation of Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson's prequel (& sequel) books is passable. It does a decent job of being a political space opera but for me?

It retcons and ruins far too much of the framework lain out in Frank's 6 books by adhering to the son's cash grab expanded universe.

If I judge it as a Space Opera apart from Dune? It's a solid 6/10.

If I judge it as a Duneiverse effort? I am a tad blinded by my own bias as a very big fan of Frank's core 6 books and the universe built there. Its a 3/4 out of 10 and much of that is because of the really great effort made with the visuals, scenery, costuming and effects all Dona great job of being cohesive with the Villeneuve movie.

In a related note, aswell as Prophecy being renewed for a 2nd season. There's rumours of a 2nd standalone series and a 4th movie

Hard to give them too much credit for the visuals though. The sound and visuals are pretty much lifted straight from the movies.
