Adding additional WiFi router - home broadband

    Hi

    Looking for guidance from a networking guru please.

    I have Virgin broadband, connected to a TP-link router in the house, all works fine. I have an office in the garden where I work from, ran a CAT 6 cable from the router and connected to home PC, have 500 MB/s. Used to work primarily on the home PC, accessing a company VDI via browser/citrix, using the PC for Team calls.

    But, I now have a company laptop so use WiFi getting speeds of 36 MB/s which is OK, but ideally I'd like to have a second network cable in the office that I could use for the laptop without having to switch cables.

    Should I look for a cheap router for the office, plug in the cat 6 cable from there and run 2 cables from it (and maybe boost the WiFi?) or is there something else I can do to split the 1 cat 6 into 2? There won;t be contention as I'd be using one or the other.

    Not sur eI've explained it well, but any guidance welcome!
