    Thought I'd go with some run and gun fun this week, with the proto Metal Slug - Gun Force II (Aka Geo Storm)

    Absolutely gorgeous looking game. Should be a fun one to try some 1cc runs on.

    You only get two lives per credit! Talk about stingy haha

    Just died on the first level boss thinking I'd have a third life and breeze on in to stage 2. Apparently not!

    Good game though and cracking soundtrack .

    Got past first boss and then got battered out of some metal slug type vehicle I was in .

    Got to second boss.

    25700.

    I got rocket launcher and I've not got it before or know how I got it . Destroys the first boss easily .

    Got 29100 ,died at second boss again .

    Not making sense of the weapon pickups , I think they are just random what ya get

    Got a flamethrower , rocket launcher and laser on the same pickup on different playthroughs.

    Also the first vehicle ya get ... It's a kinda walker .

    Few times it's had normal lasers and other times it's had sort of launching bombs that rain down lasers .

    Got to the second stage after not losing a life after a number of goes. Got pretty far in there, got to a factory with a tonne of robots and got massacred. 2 lives per credit is just mean!

    I think it might be the no death thing. It's like metal slug where you get a bonus for hostages and medals at the end and get a multiplier (I got x2 for my rank)? I think I only got halfway through stage 2. It's the only time I got to stage 2 so far.

    Ahhh right , makes sense I'm a special case , I thought the chopper was end of level 1 boss and that spider type yolk was end of stage 2.

    So it would appear I've not got past the first level 😂😂😂

    Hah! well the weird scoring comparisons make a bit more sense now so 😁

    That chopper guy is a real bloody pain with the speed of his bullets. I'm having difficulty getting by him without losing a life.

    Chopper guy is handy enough for me. You want to stand just to the right of him and shift with him. That way he only fires up and misses you. Also don't hold down to crouch, it takes a few frames to go from a crouch to a walk and it will kill you. If you press down momentarily it will fix your guns back to downward and you can move faster.

    Second phase stay to the right and shoot up. You should only have to jump the first projectile, you'll have him dead before another missile can reach you.

    For the stage boss you can keep the vehicle for most of the fight. It will tank all the hits, the only one you need to jump out of the vehicle for is the flamethrower and do your best to avoid the missiles. If you do that you can keep the vehicle for most or all of the fight.

    I'm very good at contra games but this is a real ball buster.

    Donr mind the chopper lad, I get to end boss with 2 lives all the time and it all collapses.

    It reminds me of that neo geo game ...cyber lip. Rock hard and god damn impossible

    Ahhh right, Got the hang of the first boss. ..just tank the crap out of him .first time I've seen the 2nd level , it's hectic !!!

    Made it to level 2, level 1 isn't actually so bad when you know the patterns.

    Also just need to play it aggressively like Metal slug.

    Ah okay so I can at least see my score at the end of level 1. Still missing my damn level 2 score though!

    I swear, the mid level stage 1 boss fires his gun at different speeds on different play throughs.

    I had about 4 goes one after another where I breezed through level 1 without a single death.

    Then all of a sudden that same mid stage boss seemed to be firing about twice the rate each go. Tried to see if I could trigger fast/slow shots from him (thought it might be a ranking thing with the medals) but it didn't seem to make a difference.

    Calling it a day for this evening at 148,100, think I maxed out at 160,000 half way through level 2 on one run but no record of it (wahhh!)

    Yeah noticed that aswell . He went on a mad one at me a few times .

    Same as the first vehicle ya get into , a few times it's a had a rapid fire gun, and also weapon pickups

    Maybe it's all something to do with consecutive playthroughs . As now when I lose a credit I reboot and add anothe credit, rather than allowing it to go back to start screen and credit up, and I don't see any madness

    There's some RNG bullshit going on alright. This is my best attempt today. Got to the Ninja robot assholes halfway through stage 2 which is the furthest I've gotten and can't get near my score the day before.
