    I hope he gets a chance in the frame. From the bit I saw of his interview on the news he seems to have an old head on him for a 14 year old.

    I don't think the shootout would have suited his coach Fergal though!

    Feck it. Shannon was very close to causing an upset there, seemed really calm. Plus notably played one smart safety when under pressure. Didn't play like a 14 year old.

    Delighted for Tom Ford lost his sponsor who died recently really emotional Tom and he finally won a ranking event also well done young Liam Graham beating Selby and made the final

    The crowds at these shoot outs are the biggest bunch of apes to walk the planet. It's one thing to let out a shout after a player takes a shot, but roaring BORING every 30secs and thinking you're hilarious is not entertaining. They really need to set some basic rules for this event.

    Graham was a bit too casual in the final minutes for the lead that he had. A Leicster player wins in Leicster. Almsost had an all Leicster final if Selby had got through.

    Impossible to set rules for that organisers encourage the noise. Also many of the players seem to feed off the crowd particularly the younger ones. I think it was Graham who said he was looking forwards to evening/night session as they would be even louder. In other words drunk. The younger players embrace it, there was one young Chinese player (I sound like Dennis Taylor) who put on shades after he won his matches.

    Personally I think the whole thing is a great idea like “pot black” on steroids. Gives young players/joirneymen a chance to kickstart their career. Gets different cohort interested in snooker to the norm, many can ironically find normal snooker staid and BORING!

    Brecel seems to be fighting back now with a comeback win against Ding in Scotland.

    He'd need a lot more of that over the next few months. Into the quarter final here anyway.

    As for that match I got a question.

    In the final frame Brecel potted the key red to win the frame and match and was about to happily pot away and clean up. And then Ding gets up and slashes across the balls, conceding. Brecel wasnt on anything special like a century or whatever but I still thought it strange. Never saw it like this before. Wouldnt that be considered unsporting or was it and ok thing to do from Ding?

    Ref probably just has a word with him and that's it. They understand he had the lead at 3-1 but couldn't put Luca away today, so the frustration in the moment would be understood and Luca was probably not bothered anyway.

    Conceding by deliberate foul is being done a lot when it's your turn. But getting up out of your chair and slashing across someone else's break is different I thought. Dont think I've even seen that before.

    There seems to be a big number of them suddenly at the pinnacle of snooker

    They've been around and some got banned but this looks like it could be the change that's been predicted for yrs.

    Coincides too with a falloff in numbers from the home countries , eu canada/Australia etc
