    Hi all,

Wondering if there is a solution in ireland in order to monitor your electricity consumption, ideally something that you can install directly on your electric board and which is able to recognise various appliances (through Machine Learning or determined signals). It does exist in other countries, here are 2 solutions available in the UK and France: Loop.homes & ecojoko

From another older thread, Shell EM was mentioned and also the fact that ESB was working on a solution. Electric Ireland offer this as part of their reporting, but it is not live data.

Surely something exist here in ireland. Any suggestion, recommendation is very welcome. Thanks

You can monitoring circuits or whole house

Don't overthink it unless there is a need

A problem right now is manufacturers making stuff people don't need

Thanks. I am trying to better understand my consumption patterns in order to be more efficient in how we use appliances as well as maximise our Solar Panels. I agree it might not be for everybody.

I think if you want to monitor indvidual items like the dish washer and washing machine then just get a energy monitor plug. Shelly do those as well as the Shelly EM. All these machine learning tech are only guesses anyway and wont be 100 accurte of the energy consumption.

The Shelly EM will do two circuits and you firstly need to monitor you ESB incomer then maybe your utility room circuit.

You will be able to see when the washing machine will come on or not.

Have you got a heat pump, EV eg big energy users then these would need monitoring alright but there is no point in chasing down the low end stuff.

I monitor 6 circuits (using Shelly EMs) but I am a big energy user, EV, HP, Solar PV. I mointor the utility room that has the dryer and the washing machine. TBH I dont worry about these as these never come on without me putting them on! What I am worried about is maybe my HP coming on too much, like some one a temp stat set too high. I am also worried what time stuff comes on or not and not in the correct tarriff, I have an automation for example that tells me if the car is charging during the day for some reason.

Start on the big stuff then work down if needs be..
