  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭franglan

Sorry where do I stick all those esim details into?

    I orderedi this deal today.

It all went through and payment was accepted. I received the confirmation email that it was on the way.

I have now received an email saying that the phone is being restocked and I will not get it till Dec 06th.

    Strange.

Same as me, I assume they are just low in stock, perhaps a lot of people ordering for black friday?

Good evening all, I have read thru threads..could somebody please tell me what an I doing incorrect.

I have an old lyca sim an old eir sim (both 2year old) never used.

I can't get them to receive the txt from 3 to port.

I have done this previously years ago and was as simple as put in sim to unblocked phone get txt throw away sim!

My phone won't recognize the network so won't receive a txt?

I see something bout esim and a QR code which I don't have!

Please help as I want to buy ASAP.

If it's a old sim do you even need it to port ?

Are you not just using the old sim to get the phone on the cheap?

If the Sims are 2 years old and never used is it possible the numbers were recycled and those Sims are invalid?

Stop slobbering with scrap and order a free 48sim asap

If your Lyca sim is showing that there is signal bar, wait for a little bit (15-30 mins, usually less), you should get a SMS advising you of the number assigned to the SIM, then you just need to top up (min is 5 Eur) as otherwise it won't receive any SMS.

Done this myself over the weekend there from a SIM I got more than 6 months ago.

For anyone still considering this offer, I'm a longtime pixel user (1, 3, 5 now 8a). I am coming directly from the pixel 5 (which was 629e when I picked it up in early 2021). It has marginally better performance (multitasking), a superior screen and inferior battery life (which may be related to the better screen & performance). Overall, it's a STEAL for 249

Ordered last week and keep getting a slipping delivery date. Gone to next Friday now. Anyone else experience the same?

Yeah same boat here. Hopefully it doesn't slip any further

Just got a dispatch notice! Hopefully here tomorrow instead of Friday

Just ordered one of these now, Christmas present for relative, using the 48 sim method. Took the guts of a week for the sim to be delivered but the activating/porting of sim to order the phone was painless, thanks to all for the heads up on this one! Much better than the €430 Google are selling it for on their store 😀

I'm looking for a similar deal in samsung phones if anyone is aware of anything on the go? Vodafone "sale" price of samsung galaxy for 909e is unappealing

I received a dispatched notice earlier. I will give this to the other half.

I went with an Honor 200 for myself after giving the Pixel 8a and the Honor 200 a good spin in HN shop at the weekend. I currently have a Huawei P30 Pro and think this will be a better match for me as I love the aesthetics of the Huawei phones and the 200 runs just like the P30 system, (Honor was Huawei and their phones are still Huawei at hearth).

Is the 9 pro worth the extra investment over the 8a and 8 pro?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭savemejebus

Unless you're planning on using the phone in a business and you need the huge camera improvement then I'd say no it's not worth 4 x the price of the 8a on offer here and almost 2x the price of the 8 pro on offer but that's subjective.

If you want a proper answer check out the Pixel 9pro/xl thread

Just to confirm, i am presently with vodafone PAYG , credit up tomorrow, using a redmi note 11, if i port my number via link on 1st page, i can purchase the pixel, plus purchase 20eu credit, total cost circa 270, i will recieve the phone, what do i do next, to get phone operational, plan is then to re port my number back to Vodafone as their network is best in my area, appreciate advice pls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 187 ✭✭yellowbear

If you buy it online you don't need to buy the credit.

If I was you I'd get a Vodafone esim for free if your current phone can use esims if not order a free 48 sim and port that and don't port your main number over so then you won't have to port back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 233 ✭✭stoves1

i have ordered a free 48sim & its in the post, will port that, then when that is done order the pixel8 at the same time from 3, is that correct?, many thanks for help

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭savemejebus

almost, when the sim arrives put it in your phone and make sure it can receive a text. then order the pixel 8 and use the 48 number as the number you wish to switch. 3 will send you a text code to confirm. you use that to order the phone.

Does anyone know if Vodafone Samsungs are unlocked?

This looks like a good deal at €429 with free tablet included.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,037 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

This phone is a Google Pixel 8a and is unlocked

I couldn't get Vodafone eSim to work so just order the 48 sim. Even though it took 5 days to arrive at least it worked
