Would there be demand for DUB-SIN?

Ireland has a significant diaspora in Australia and New Zealand. Both countries are outside the range of conventional aircraft for non-stop flights from Dublin.

Singapore Changi is a good hub for people travelling to SE Asia too, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.

And Singapore itself is a smashing destination.

Back in the day I would have used it every few weeks, but only if it was a daytime service from Singapore back to Dublin – I hate night flights with a passion.

I used to depart SIN about 10:00am local, have a meal in DXB, and be home by 8:30pm.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

Yes probably. Cathay were doing well on the Dublin-Hong Kong route up until local political issue coupled with Covid killed it off.

But bear in mind Etihad, Turkish, Qatar Airways and Emirates have their own version of the one stop going now for years.

O&D suggest yes there is demand. However it would rely heavily on interlining, so SQ or EI with loads of new code shares is only possibility. Seeing as DUB SIN isn’t book able on EI website but is on BA says enough that EI can’t codeshare. JQ would be nice hookup in SIN. I go 3/4 times a year to SIN. Same with KUL.

SIA are a very premium heavy airline, arguably the best premium cabins in the industry, but they aren't cheap. Forget about Y demand, it's the premium cabins that need to be full and with the ME3 already well entrenched for connections I'm not sure there's enough F/J to make it work.

I misread the thread title as DUB-SNN 😁

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.
