I need statements from all my banks and it's urgent. I have everything except BOI. Apparently it takes a working day to get it and I'm still waiting.

If I go into the bank today and ask for a statement to be printed out will they do it? PTSB won't do them. They only issue e statements they told me. It seems a simple request. It seems mad I can't view my statements in the app.

The used to be able to print statements in branches, but I think management banned the branches from printing them a few years ago. But there is no harm in going in and asking.

    Have you the Banking365 app?

You can go back as far as you like and view statements online.

    This is from mine

I doubt it, security is very strict these days and staff are only allowed to access data that is necessary for their daily work. So the idea of a random clerk in a branch being able to access and print out your statements is very unlikely. Occasionally people have a specific member of staff assigned to them and it appears somewhere on the statements, now if you were to go and see that person or their supervisor, I'd expect they'd be able to access your statements.

You don't mention the periods you need the statements for and this is key to the time line. Somewhere in your T&Cs the bank makes you responsible for keeping copies of your own statements and so they quickly take old data off line to save money. So if you're asking for very old statements, it may have to be requested from some off site storage location, loaded on to the computers and then printed.

I have that. I had to order it and it came one working day later. Only now I can go in and view my estatements. I couldn't do that. It just seems a lot of hassle. I got sorted in the end.

BOI are working on updating their IT systems. It is the IT equivalent of building the National Children's Hospital.
