Virgin media play app produces decoder error when it gets to ads

    Hi

    I'm facing an unusual problem with Virgin media player (and on very rare occasion RTE Player)

    The catch up TV programs and Live TV play fine until after 15 mins it's time to show me ads. (Note: the first 5 ads play fine before the TV show starts)

    I then get this error, before I'm shown any ads. (I'm using and android TV which is new and also an Nvidia Shield, the error occurs on both)

    As a workaround I'm streaming from my phone to the TV as for some weird reason there are no ads shown to me on my phone

    Any idea why this is happening? And ad blocker on the TV would be nice but I'm guessing I'll need to do something with the router/DNS to get that to work (messy)

    I don't mind watching the ads for a few mins

    My random guess is that the first ad after 15 mins is a gambling ad, and there some weird decoder issue with it. (the first 5 ads are never gambling ads)

    Issue may be somewhat unique to you due to personalised adverts. Maybe it's in some unusual video format that is not supported.
