Buying Tickets on Bus Eireann site

After a long period of not using Bus Eireann, I will be using it next week. Tried looking up and buying tickets on the BE website but no joy, the lookup just keeps looping.

Is there an app, I can only find the TFI Go and it doesn't have all services? Can we still buy tickets on the bus and use card instead of cash?

Thank you for your answer in advance.

You can buy tickets on the bus and pay with a leap card at least. Someone else can probably confirm if a bank card works, I never tried it on Bus Eireann.

I saw someone pay with card on an expressway last week

Expressway accepts contactless nowadays as they use their own ticket machine set-up, but regular Bus Eireann services will only accept cash or leap card as it's the NTA ticket machines being used. Whenever the next-gen ticketing rolls out, that will begin to changer however.

LEAP will be the cheapest option for any Bus Éireann PSO route on board the bus.

For Expressway, you can use cash, credit card or LEAP card on the bus.

Thanks guys. I don't have a LEAP card and won't be able to get it, especially on a such a short notice, so I'll just go with cash and card, hopefully.

The PSO routes are all on the TFI GO app too and that app sells the tickets at LEAP card fares.

You can get a LEAP card at any post office or An Post agent, or Irish Rail ticket machines in Dublin and Cork and top up using the LEAP card top up app.

Tickets for Expressway routes are only on the BÉ website or from the driver.
