Conor McGregor Megathread *Mod Warning in OP Updated 20th April*

I've been in and out of courtrooms for over 25 years, typically I'll be in the four courts 10 days or so per year.

I happened to be there for 4 days while rape case was running. A few things stood out.

*A çnut in an expensive suit still looks like a çnut.

*McGregor's body language up close is awful, couldn't see it going well with jury. Of the group I was there with, all pretty normal decent people thought he presented like a complete tool..

*In my experience of court cases, a lot is lost that can't be reported in the papers. Civil cases are hugely influenced by how the parties present themselves. I passed the Plaintiff and her family on the footpath by chance to, they presented as normal decent people.

*Unlike the vast majority of people in high profile cases he seemed to go out of his way to be visible.

The photographing of the jury(while being really stupid) along with the bad things that seem to happen women making complaints is really fçuking sinister

she’s being supported because many people believe her. It’s not that difficult to understand. Believe she was raped, believe she endured severely, and admire her commitment to getting justice..and you’re really annoyed by this..🤔

Looks around the net - there's plenty people brushing off the whole thing - even on here - there's plenty people trying to demonise the woman.

Who is taking anyone at their word without scrutiny? This woman has been under more scrutiny over the past number of weeks about this specific incident than many - it was the whole point of the past 6 years or her.

There's not much nuance in this for me. McGregor has form.

This event might lead to others who have been effected negatively by his actions coming forward.

So would you consider McGregor to be an upstanding member of society based on what you know about him?

The facts are simple here.

You suggest she was believed purely because of her sex.

You also suggest that the DPP chose not to prosecute as there wasn't enough evidence to secure a prosecution. If they judged her purely on her sex they would surely have attempted the prosecurtion?

There are very obvious problems with some men you could name them yourselves - McGregor is one of them based on his long term actions. There are also problems with some women.

The issue is, this guy is "looked up to" by many many people - this isn't a good thing.

He was never going to be considered Irelands greatest sportsman of all time even before this despicable incident.

To be fair he had a good run up till he took the fight with Mayweather, fighting six times in the previous two years. He coulda been a contender
