    Rte homepage below

"The woman who accused Conor McGregor and his friend of rape moved this year after her property was invaded by a group of men wearing balaclavas who stabbed her partner and broke her windows, it can now be reported"

Crazy that this wasn't out in the public knowledge during the trial. Reminds me of the woman who claimed she was assaulted in Spain but dropped her lawsuit shortly after her car was burnt out....

    Below from wiki

"In January 2023, McGregor was accused of assaulting a 42-year-old woman aboard his yacht in Ibiza, Spain, during his birthday party on 22 July 2022. The woman claimed she was berated by McGregor before being physically assaulted. She further claimed that she was forced to jump from the yacht to escape McGregor and that she sustained a broken arm in the process. The woman did not file a formal statement with Spanish police at the time of the incident. In January, she gave a formal statement with Irish police, who then shared that statement with their Spanish counterparts. The woman has also filed a civil suit against McGregor over the alleged incident. After making her formal statement, the woman's car was set ablaze outside of her Dublin home. In February, a brick was reportedly thrown through a window of that residence. In late February 2023, news surfaced that the lawsuit was discontinued by the plaintiff, with no further information provided"

I was extremely impressed with her statement in front of the cameras . She said it was for girls AND boys to fight for justice .Good luck to her .

There’s a common law status, but it’s not a rule. 50% automatic entitlement is California and TV shows. Not Ireland.

He may have accrued wealth in that region, but as a human being he’s worth about the same as a wet fart. Apologies to wet farts.

Would you arrange to be collected by that individual and go back to his hotel?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

If a pedestrian walked in the middle lane of the M50 against the flow of traffic would it be victim blaming to say they should have known better?

    Mod: warned for victim blaming

    does anyone know what the line “She said there was a lot of waiting around before she returned to the hotel room.” in this article means;

she didn’t go back to the hotel room after leaving after being raped did she?

Hand returned to the hotel after the rape occurred and went to the penthouse with Lawerence. A fact of the case I’ve not seen widely reported

I’m not “trying” to say anything. The civil court did rule against him - but it didn’t find him “guilty” because it can’t - it found him at fault -you can only be found “guilty” in the criminal courts - he hasn’t been found “guilty in a criminal court”- ergo he maintains his status of “innocent” until proven guilty .

I imagine a convoluted wording or label to describe him in ways that reflect this court ruling may emerge in time - something like CMcG, the man found libel for …etc

I believe they were waiting around for the hotel room to be ready- it was mid- morning time when they decided to go to the hotel

They we’re down in the basement car park for quite some time after Conor left - then returned to the room via the lift where they had to be let back into the room - it was well covered in the reports

McGregor and his family would have been better off if had stuck to the plumbing. While he has huge wealth fame etc look at the human he has become. The only people that will (or have been dealing) with him seem to be sycophants, financial parasite's, ( including lawyers etc) and some of his family. He has been beyond the pale for the mainstream for a while. His achievements mean very little, his life now is one marked by dysfunction, disgrace and destruction of the lives of others. For me wealth is fairly hollow when that is where you wind up.

By contrast I know a few plumbers , they work hard, earn well and have a good lifestyle. Importantly they also have good family lives, are well respected and are people I would happily have a pint or coffee with.

Her behaviour after the rape was extensively covered during the trial. It was detailed in the plaintiff’s opening statements, she was cross examined on it, and both lawyers covered it in their closing statements. The psychiatrist also covered what might happen to behaviour and memory in the aftermath of a serious assault. As cracked as it sounds, acting normal for a short period of time is common, as is memory loss, and shock can be delayed.

It would have worked against her at a criminal trial, for sure, as obviously someone who wasn’t assaulted would act the same way. But the jury here believed the psychiatrist and Ms Hand.

what I can’t understand is why they put McGregor on the stand. Either he insisted - which means he’s an even larger imbecile then I thought - or it was a master stroke by Remy Farrell to ensure McGregor lost and he still got paid.

    Liable is more the word

She was awarded nearly €250,000 in damages after the High Court jury found that she was raped by Conor McGregor in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

I'm finding some of the audulation she is getting bizarre.

Whether its legal or not in the eyes of the world he is . And very importantly Nikita Hand may very well have saved other women from the same fate

you don’t believe that he raped her?

It’s not adulation, it’s more respect for the process, for justice and for her fight.

I am not sure I believe her version of events to be honest. Suspect the truth is somewhere inbetween both versions.

But he is a scum bag. I thought if found liable they would have hit him up for millions.

It was literally mentioned in every paper for days. Not sure what you mean by "widely reported"

I never liked the cnut from the start.

But I'm sure people will still go to his pub and buy his drinks. He will still be a role model for some people.

“what I can’t understand is why they put McGregor on the stand.”

I don’t think they had any choice TBH -her testimony on the first week was incredibly strong and detailed relating to the actual “encounter” itself - if he were to have any chance in the jury being divided he had to put forward his “version” - considering some of the reports on his delivery of his account weren’t good especially considering he was admonished by the judge at one stage for the language he used - he also tried to “allude” to the fact that she had sex with a number of men that night , something that was quite unbelievable and an obvious attempt to make her out to be , well we know what he was trying to do there- had he stuck to his “account” and delivered it with a level of clarity detail and fact, and left the anger out of the delivery, it might have strengthened his case more and made the decision far more difficult for the jury

He's have still ended up being a scumbag, he's just be a scumbag with a lot less money now.

That sort of badness has to be in you already, don't think money and fame can turn you that bad myself.May make you more arrogant and obnoxious but I don;t think it turns you into complete scum like McGregor is.
