Oh yea, so true. Anything can take traction, and this is getting traction since Musk has gone to the dark side, free speech, even if what your talking is disputed by facts and data, X is a place to post it and have like minded people agree, until it's believable by masses of people to be truth

Truth Social is where it's at losers

This new platforms arrival is exactly what I said would happen, in response to the clowns who think that social media equates to free speech, the same clowns who randomly, unilaterally declared with all authority that twitter was the 'neW TowN sQuaRe'.

Platforms will multiply just like tv channels, websites and newspapers. It was never a u.s. constitutional issue. Social media isnt a constitutional right over there, or here, or anywhere.

That said I saw one tweet on x, where someone went on bluesky and sent out a message 'there are only two genders and was summarily banned on the spot.

So its the other end of the spectrum, with both ends being infantile and low quality.

Saw that too, but unsurprisingly, it was bullshít. It’s a troll account that lives off negative engagement.

The whole ethos of Bluesky is block & forget. If there’s an account that posts something you don’t like by all means report it, but block the account and you’ll never see or hear from them again.

Various twittery family members have migrated and are so far happy enough. I'm not on either but might be more inclined to engage with bluesky than X.

I've been on it since last week and so far have had a very positive experience. Most of the significant accounts I followed on X are on Bluesky now but the racist, sexist trolls largely aren't. That's the main difference for me.

The main success measure for me is how much I go back to see what's happening on X (I've kept my account there for now). I've hardly visited in the last couple of days which says it all.

I deleted my twitter account (which I hardly used) because they had left a bug unfixed for six months which was leaking user data. This was before he who must not be names bought it, life's good will never miss it. So do I need blue sky - nope no thanks, unless it's full of pictures and video of hot women in gym gear

Their is definitely some who are fleeing because they want an echo chamber , but tbf Twitter has been absolute poison since Elon took over and it was turning into a deeply unpleasant echo chamber itself.

I think plenty of people who are away to Bluesky are normal and are just fed up of how toxic twitter was and just want to browse what they are interested in without having to deal with all the shite of twitter. Social media should be a stress free brief distraction to the drudgery of life.

On the echo chamber stuff, I do think Jack was hugely underrated when in charge compared to Elon who has pulled plenty of stuff when governments asked him to.
