Wondering if anyone remembers theyre bus theory test, and if it's an even amount of questions from each category in the book, ie 20 from the 5 categories, or is there a lot more questions from the longest category, safe and responsible driving section? Thanks

That theory test was simple, doubt anyone ever fails that. Got 99 but only need 74-100. Common sense really. Apply for case studies next

Fair play, the case studies test is even easier.

There are a few things that could cause a fire on a back wheel, under inflation could cause it but this would most likely cause a blowout before a fire.

In order to have a fire you need 3 ingredients, Fuel, Ignition and Oxygen.

Oxygen will always be available at the rear wheel so we need to look for the other 2 fuel and ignition.

Around the wheel the main source of fuel would be grease from wheel bearings etc.

The ignition source in general would be friction…

With that in mind the two main reasons that spring to mind are …

    Binding brakes, causing overheating…

Worn wheel bearing again causing overheating and …..

There is handy YT channel caller ADR training Ireland. Lot of useful information and free content about buses and trucks. If you pick membership you can get q&a that will be on your exam day and kahoots. Highly recommend for anyone who's preparing for CPC exams, walk around or theory tests.

Thank you for the useful information. I have taken the test twice and failed the theoretical part. Do you know where I could find even more Q&As based on the 6 scenarios? I have the test scheduled again next month and I am trying to be as prepared as possible. Many thanks!

I have my theory test and CPC case study test coming up with Dublin Bus within the next two weeks.

I’m slightly confused about how the format of the CPC test works, and I would appreciate it if someone who has done it recently could confirm.

Is it a case of reading each scenario and then, at the end, being asked different questions about what the driver did wrong, with a choice of three answers to choose from (like the theory test), where you select the correct answer?

Or is it a case of reading scenarios and highlighting what the driver has done wrong?

    How does it work?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.
