iBox.ie or alternative IPTV service for use with Kodi PVR?

Recently I used a Telestar Digibit Twin to make use of a spare LNB port on my satellite dish. Unfortunately, the device has died and I need to return it. I had been using it with Kodi and TVHeadend. I'm now considering replacing that hardware with an IPTV service.

All I require is the ability to record free to air UK TV (Irish TV optional; already covered by other boxes), a 7 day EPG and, ideally, 7 day catch-up service — no interest in 100,000+ channels, sports events, movies, or, ofc, any illegal content.

iBox.tv looks as if it might fit the bill. Anyone using it and happy with it or able to recommend an alternative? (UK channels only is fine)

It does look as if many of the sites rating various services are as dodgy and conflicted as those covering VPNs! Thanks.

    Mod note:

Ibox came up here some years ago. I was inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt at the time and in the absence of evidence to the contrary I’m inclined to continue to do so.

Discussion of any clearly illegal providers isn’t allowed, however.

Used them in the past - quality is average to poor at best, quite often towards the evening it would buffer or start looping 10-15 seconds of video (even if you changed up/down channels it would loop the same 10-15 seconds again). While it had 7-day catchup you could only fast forward in 30-second segments and it wouldn't remember if you stopped midway and returned to pick up where you left of later, it just started over again.

Customer service was completely unresponsive to any issues so cancelled it as it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Thanks, KildareP. Did you switch to anything else? Anyone else got any recommendations?

I wouldn't consider ibox if it was obviously dodgy but it seems entirely legit in terms of what's on offer.

Was Freesat/Saorview for a while, then tried Sky Stream (awful).

On Eir's TV service now which uses Apple TV's and very happy with that although BBC recording was recently discontinued.
