Iran is 3 times the size of France. If the coalition couldn’t find Iraqi launch sites in the Gulf war, finding sites in Iran is going to be a hell of a lot harder.
Have a look at “Spectacle: Operation Desert Storm and the Triumph of Illusion” for an insight into the failure of thousands of air sorties to detect and destroy 2 dozen scud launchers.

So bombing raids similar to what is happening in Gaza? The US didn't achieve regime change in Iraq or Afghanistan without boots on the ground so just bombing raids doesn't seem like they could achieve anything significant in iran

I can't see any political will in the USA to invade Iran, even heavy bombing seem not be supported. Israel won't do this alone.

    There are ground battles already.

Meat attacks 🙄 You mean using infantry ahead of armour, just like the IDF are doing in Lebanon.

They don't need regime change or to invade, just to eliminate the missile threat. Iran have no effective air force. Their missile force would be degraded very fast.

What is to stop then building more missiles? As long as the current iranian regime stays in power they will continue to support israels enemies. Israel doesn't seem to have a longterm plan.

Well in fairness it did work in WW2, no wait. It’s never worked has it. It’s a military doctrine long since discredited that only Israel pursues. Kill so many civilians that the remaining civilians pressurise their leaders to sue for peace. It’s the deliberate killing of civilians and Israelis excel at it.

Their capacity to produce missiles could be quickly degraded.

The situation can't really be compared as after the ww2 victory the Allies were not still surrounded on all sides by countries which can barely stand them. If Israel is unable to force an exodus of the gazans, which does seem unlikely, they will be left with 2 million people living beside them that they have brutalised for last year, and an enemy that they can't possibly invade that will continue to arm their enemies.

If Hamas can fire rockets at Israel a year after the might of the IDF and the resources of the US military industrial complex were unleashed upon Gaza, which is less than half the size of county Louth. I think Iran, 3 times bigger than France, would still be hitting Israel with missiles a year later too.

And their conduct of the offence on Gaza, Lebanon and in the West Bank has lost them untold goodwill and political capital around the world. It has woken a lot of otherwise apathetic people to the atrocities of the Israeli state.

There's a video circulating of Hamas ambushing and destroying an israeli tank in Gaza. What's notable about the video is there doesn't seem to be any israeli infantry supporting the tank in what was a built up urban area. That could be down to pure incompetence from poorly trained, poorly led, poorly motivated conscripts, but it might also be explained by israel just not having the numbers after 13 months of exhausting, failed fighting on multiple fronts.

It has to be humiliating for israeli military prestige that they've been unable to defeat Hamas despite every possible advantage.

What also makes some grim reading for israelis is that there has been polling done in the US which shows 52% of young Republican voters support the US imposing an arms embargo on israel. Now, what voters want has no real connection to political policy in the US - donors drive policy - but it demonstrates how isolated israel is that even young Republicans have turned against them to the extent of supporting arms embargos.

The IDF are having difficulty getting soldiers to return to the fronts. Lots of PTSD, etc.

The 12 IDF soldiers killed in Lebanon recently were all Indian.

Of course, their "soldiers" are guys who like to rape other men and dress in underwear, and the females who do stupid dance videos on tik tok.

It's obvious that it's only the government and the media in the likes of the US, Germany and the UK that is in thrall to Israel. The Zionist lobby appears to have one hell of a hold over them - they are seriously compromised.

The "militarily neutralisation" of Israel would lead to only one thing: Iran and its proxies having free rein to do what they want.

The only other option would be for whoever is going to "militarily neutralise" Israel to also do the same to Iran, and likely also the groups it supports.

Would it be ok for people in other countries to attack/rape/kill Israeli citizens who live there?

You might have a 60 year old Israeli living in the US for the past 40 years who has never been back to Israel. A Palestinian/Lebanese/Syrian decides to take "revenge" on them?

Are such Israelis fair game given "their" killing of others???………….

Or is it only valid when the collective punishment approach is applied to Muslims?

On this day in 1995 Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by a Zionist opposed to existence of Palestinians.

    Different kinds of rockets altogether.

One is lower-tech, short-range rockets that can easily be moved and launched by relatively untrained forces.

The other is high-tech, incomparably more complex long-range precision missiles that require a proper military, with associated sites and equipment.

Israel could destroy Iran's means of building and delivering the latter, far less so with the first kind, but it would be irrelevant as in a war of that distance, they would be of absolutely zero use anyway.

It is like categorizing a flintlock pistol and a minigun as equals. Both have deadly capability, true, but they are not remotely the same thing nor remotely as effective.

The kinds of missiles that Iran needs to hit Israel with in a major escalation would be very difficult for them to hide/replenish in any sort of protracted conflict.

They don't have any way to challenge or contest Israel's overwhelming air power.

Their limited planes are mostly from the 1970's, their air defenses are not much better.

As as been said before, Russia has been firing missiles at Ukraine since 2022, and Ukraine's air defense is not Israels, nor is Ukraine able to strike back into Russia territory.

They're not wonder weapons. They've not achieved much for Russia in an active war and they certainly wouldn't win any wars for Iran.

They've invested in this kind of tech like rockets and drones, as well as proxies, because it's the single effective deterrent they can develop against Israel, rather than "waste" money investing in other systems that would still lag decades behind and prove useless.

If this is the case why haven't Israel already done so?

Given theat iran was not firing rockets at Israel before the conflict I think they would have to have a strategy of stopping the smaller rockets getting to their proxies.

thats why israel has been bombing iranian convoys passing through syria to stop them getting to proxies in lebanon firing them at israel

meanwhile as israel awaits yet another attack from iran the americans bring their defensive assets into play

"The US has vowed to help defend Israel against any Iranian attack and last month deployed an anti-ballistic missile defence system, the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) in Israel with nearly 100 American troops to operate it.

Six US B-52 bombers arrived in the Middle East over the weekend, most likely in Qatar, after the deployment of a squadron of F-16 fighters and refuelling tankers in the region in October. The movements, the Pentagon said, were “in keeping with our commitments to the protection of US citizens and forces in the Middle East, the defence of Israel, and de-escalation through deterrence and diplomacy.”"

Doubt anything will happen before the result of the US election is known. Looks like the current administration in the US and Israel have a clear plan of action in place, which is great. Fingers crossed Harris gets across the line and things can proceed as planned.

Am Yisrael Chai - Bring them home.

This seems a very short term solution. It actually sounds a bit like how the Americans were bombing the ho chi minh trail for over a decade but the arms kept coming.

If some randomer on the internet could come up with a solution then I think Israel would have figured it out by now. I dont think regime change is possible without an invasion, which the US has no appetite for and Israel has no capability to implement. What Israel does seem to be doing its taking temporary measures for a long term problem.
