Anyone installed a recessed gas meter box?

Want to get a gas connection but would rather have it recessed in the wall. Seems gas networks don't do this themselves. Anyone recommend DIYing it? I can't even find a YouTube tutorial for it.

it’s very difficult to recess into an existing wall. You’d have to put in a lintel(head) over it
You’d also have the difficulty Of getting a pipe connected from the road to it
