WYLLT had its UK release canceled at the last minute. Therefore, it only charted on imports and that's why it flopped there.

Delerium - Silence, reached number 1 here

William Orbit - Barber's Adagio for Strings, was very nearly Christmas number 1 in 1999, hit number 2 that week

Dermot Morgan Thank you very much Mr Eastwood (Dec 1985) UK No 77 Ireland No 1

Maybe would have done better if he was known for Fr Ted back then

    I had to check.

William Orbit's version of "Adagio for Strings" only reached #7 in Ireland.

In the very first post on this thread I did say that we would try to look beyond the more obvious ones like "Maniac 2000" or "Aon Focal Eile".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,923 ✭✭✭Quantum Erasure

I would have put money on it getting to number 2...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,183 ✭✭✭its_steve116

I'd argue the Tiësto version is more widely-known.
